been looking on the forum for quite a while and was wondering, why is everyone so bothered with blanking out the number plates?

I think it's generally the paranoia that somehow we'll be identified or tracked down or stalked or something. Who knows. I've wondered the same thing - like WTF do I care what someone's license plate # is?

Every serial killer has a buddy at the DMV who gives out information for a steak dinner and a blow pop!!! (stole that from Dane Cook’s comic CD)
Just kidding of course. But you can find out a lot with someone’s tag number these days. I had a guy run me off of the road and the cops couldn’t do anything because I didn’t hit him with my vehicle. I even knew his tag number and still nothing! I was able to get a ‘buddy” at the DMV to look up his address and I went by and told him how much I appreciated him running me off of the road causing me to flip my Jeep twice and land in a pond and almost drowned! And now days you can google anything! By the way I am not a serial killer!! Me and the guy who turn out to be almost 80 ended up talking for like an hour. I didn’t go there to start a fight I just wanted to know if he saw me or not. The old man said he did but didn’t see me flip once I left the road. He said he came back a few hours later and had felt bad. He offered to pay my $500 insurance deposit but I settled for an apology since I had already paid it. I know it’s off subject but I wish we could have mandatory drivers license test for every one about every 5 to 10 years. I'll be POSTING pics of my new plate when we get it. Helps complete the theme. Is it a picture of a middle finger with wings? Hahahaha! I can just picture it... it's high noon and you're standing back-to back with some other dude... hand in pocket... DRAW! And flipping each other off. (sorry, I guess I'm in a particularly goofy mood today) I'm gonna google my license plate # and see if I can find myself This post has been edited by GriffGirl: Jul 30, 2008 - 1:39 PM -------------------- |

well if you want to avoid the congestion charge in london and you have a 6th gen celica, just find a number plate on here and slap it on your car then when it gets photographed the poor person whose plate was copied gets clobbered with the bill
