The other day i noticed that my dome light only lights up when my driver's side door is open...i think this started pretty recently. Any idea what might have bit the dust and where it's located so i can revive it?

Check inside the front of the door jamb. There should be a little depressable pin sticking out that is the actuator for the dome light. Odds are that's what bit the dust.

That pin thingy that Fastbird is talking about supplies the chassis ground for the light, if you don't use the lights-on when door open much.
Where the contact touches the body tends to oxidize (rust) and doesn't complete the circuit to ground.
I took mine out once on my 90 ST but I never bothered to clean it. If you want I can run out check it, but I if I remember
getting it out was pretty straight forward and where it made contact was pretty obvious too. (steel wool or pencil eraser to clean).

Just remove the 10mm bolt underneath the rubber.

The sensor might be stuck open so find one in a scrapyard and either cut the wire and then tape it with u'r cut wire or deconnect the little plug at the end of the wire (you will have to remove the plastic trim on rear passenger side) but that's more of a pain in the ass.

I did the first and worked perfectly

Edit: Before you try this make sure the connector isnt just stuck (try jigaloo)... and put some white grease on the connector
