After driving my celica around for the past couple weeks I have come to the conclusion that I need more power in the car. I was thinking of doing some bolt-ons such as an axle-back exhaust, short ram air intake, and maybe a throttle body spacer. One other thing I just found is a speed chip that is supposed to add a great deal of power.....and maybe a cheap supercharger

the chip

This is a picture of thhe supercharger that I found...

It seems pretty legit and yes I do realize it isn't going to really give me 100hp....but I figure between these four mods that I would be able to net about 100hp.

I am pretty excited to see what the celica can do with all the added power it will have, if anyone has experience with these mods advice would be great......

Thanks in advance for any helpful info

Sorry I was kidding about all that stuff...what I was really going to say was it is time for an engine swap.....
Several days ago I just got my 4th gen 3SGTE (ST215) to my buddies garage.

Got a pretty good deal on it because the seller didn't have the ECU with the engine, so I need to track that down. I have heard the wiring is difficult...but I figure it can't be that hard and I have changed a few lightbulbs before plus my friend has done a b16 into a honda civic and he did the wiring for it himself and said we should be able to figure it out.

The bad news is my quaife lsd is still about 3 weeks out, so I might run the S54 tranny for a few weeks before getting the real E153 in. Stay tuned for updates..

You suck you know that? Here I was happily sitting back to enjoy the flamefest and here you pull some BS like that laugh.gif Nice one.
Man your ST-215 motor is in waaaay better shape than mine was when I got my clip. Why not just ditch the whole stock ECU plan and go standalone?

Yeah I am sorry that was mean...but I couldn't resist... and yes standalone is very tempting...but it is going to be my daily driver so I am going to wait awhile before going crazy on it. I was very happy with how clean the motor was, I looked in the oil cap and it is a beautiful gold shade, so I am very happy with it.

I just got in all of the seals and gaskets, water pump, and timing belt so I am going to go ahead and do those sometime this week. I will keep the thread updated.

Sweet - take your time do it right, torque everything to spec, use only OEM or namebrand upgrade parts and that thing will be a freaking monster that will last.

HAHAHA good post.
You should look into megasquirt for an ecu.
Its going to be almost impossible to find the oem ecu for that motor.

Actually check with Hux racing - I think they ended up with my old 4th Gen ECU or at least know what happened to it. The Camry my motor was going into wasn't gonna use it.

the awesomeness actually blinded me alittle

and here are some others...autometer cobalt boost gauge, aem dryflow air filter, and a walbro fuel pump

I am currently planning to start on the swap friday the 15th and have the weekend to work on it...I will take some pictures when I do the seals and gaskets and get them up here

Went ahead and got the walbro in....it was a little difficult because the high pressure line refused to get loose so the install was a little tight....

Also got the wiring harness off the engine and a few seal done....

I have decided to push the swap to labor day weekend...the wait is killing me I am ready to have it in the celica.....

easternpiro1 we might have to run them when they are both up and running...and DEATH i thought they also gave about 60hp if tuned correctly...

The more you think about it, the more you'll want it in and you cant have it right now. So do something that'll take your mind off of it. Go play Need for Speed or something laugh.gif

Yeah, tuning floor mats is very important. They also need fresh belts and fluid every 3000 miles if they're to work properly. The last thing you wanna do is neglect them. That's the number one cause of cars exploding, neglected floor mats. laugh.gif

you can, but for me, I made a new one that is adjustable. With the stock one, you cannot adjust timing. And you need to modify the stock crank pulley to make it works.
