All these months I've been giddy at the thought that I finally purchased a pristine condition car only to be crushed.
Turns out my passanger side fenders have been resprayed. I imagine another car came too close and ruined the whole side. Luckily only the fenders were sprayed, meaning the door and vital a pillar were unharmed. whew. but still... damn it!

The discovery was made when i bought my new led head strap to help work on my friends truck. after we finished I figured it would be awesome to try washing the car during sunset to avoid water spots. once I washed and rinsed it was getting a bit dark so I popped the led's on and there it was, the sharpest contrast of two reds I've ever seen. My fenders are dark while the rest of the body remains its happy self. not only that, the led exposed many otherwise invisible blemishes on my paint. the funny thing remains that these things are otherwise invisible in day light. cwm13.gif

long story short: life sucks. But LED's will find EVERYTHING on a potential new car. I'll be using leds from now on

I don't see the big problem, not like you're looking at the car with LED's all the time. Get over it, I have the same thing with my front bumper.

That would be called "Metamerism". they probably attempted to tint the color they mixed with a toner that was outside the formula. that will cause you to see exactly where they sprayed in a different type of light(other than natural sunlight). Even if they did a great blend.

Dude, i totaly understand. Although it's not visible, you want your car PERFECT!! you want to be able to invite someone to look at things under a fcuking microscope, for even a dectitive to investigate it and find nothing but perfections wink.gif (that's a bit dramatic) but there are plenty of us out here. I'll remember that from now on when i'm doing work, or ESPECIALLY paying for work tongue.gif

Great heads up!

I understand, I just don't think it's as giant of a deal as you're making it out to be.

He was just telling us something new he found out. To alot of us it could be usefull. For most of us how love or cars its a bummer to find out something you thought was "perfect" actually is not.
