I decided to pay close attention to my mileage this week. I'm driving a 94 GT 5-Speed. I don't really go over 70-80 on the highway..but I drive "peppy" on the surface roads (can't help but have fun in the Celica).. I'm getting about 280 a tank. With recent plugs, wires, rotor, cap, distributor. How's your mileage this summer and how do you drive? -------------------- My new, blue spark plug wires gave my Celica, roughly, 250 more horsepower..

Wow, that's pretty crappy.
I get just under 400 a tank, maybe even 400 if I let it go all the way to empty. |

Yeah, I drive at pretty high RPMs on the surface roads...but I think
I need a new oxygen sensor and a couple other things. -------------------- My new, blue spark plug wires gave my Celica, roughly, 250 more horsepower..

He's driving an ST. It all depends on your driving. My city driving RPMs are almost always above 3k. And I do mostly city driving. If I took it really easy - drove soft, shifted soft and lightened up on the gas foot, my mileage would jump up considerably. In the situation where I am doing highway driving, I get about 31 MPG. -------------------- My new, blue spark plug wires gave my Celica, roughly, 250 more horsepower..

i have a block heater.. it's just that my parents think it's a waste of electricity if i leave it on overnight (i can agree to that). they say turning it on in the morning a couple of hours before i leave is ok.. and when i park at the university, i park at the 'cheap' far lot with no power available.
oh yeah, btw we get much harsher winters than you.. i love snow... i just hate the cold. -------------------- -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |

OOH wait there, I will not argue with you, but last winter here was the worst ever! I had no blower and no place to put all my snow, it was insane! Buy a timer for the block heater (I guess you have that already ), 2 hours of pre-heating proably only costs like .20 $ of power. -------------------- -Rémy 02 SiR, 08 250R |

Crappy. About 21.5-23.5 depending on how much I use the A/C and throttle. I guess the motor has something to do with that though.

I check my mileage every time I fill up to make sure everything is kosher; it hasn't been below 25 in a few years. 27-29 combined city/highway with AC on is average. I've gotten over 33 on highway trips.

420 miles on a tank easily before I start getting scared. That's mostly highway miles, but with stop and go traffic

Last time I checked I think I got 412 miles on a tank. I have a 95 GT Auto That's about what I used to get with stock 15'' rims. Now I usually fill up around 370-380 to be on the safe side (it would probably go over 400 though) with 17's. About 27-29 mpg, which I think it's pretty normal, considering I use my A/C every now and then and I don't drive slow either. |
