ok so i replaced my bumper and fender, but the bumper is gray and the fender is black. and for the time being i would just like to spray a layer of primer so the celi isnt tan black and gray. i was thinking about sanding with 400 to 800 then to like 1200 then spraying it.

all that isnt really needed. just sand the whole car down with 80 grit then then spray a medium wet coat all over the car. Be sure to use a tack cloth and prepare the surface well before spraying.

what do you wanna spray. 800 -1000 grit should do it. WET SAND though. then use like dishwashing soap to wash the part(s) sanded to take off any oils and what not. then let air dry........then spray in a dry cool non-dusty environment.
ALSO MASK OFF ANY PART(s) you dont want over spray on -------------------- I don't normally drive fast, but when I do its on a curvy section of this island
