Cool. Yeah I didnt know if I needed a turbo and I wasn't sure exactly what an OCC did. Besides an engine swap is there any other way I can get more power out of my 3s Fe motor?

Does oil catch can work ?? Yes will they help with performance ?? A little bit, my advice especially since your in japan ditch the 3sfe and head to the nearest junkyard and pull yourself a 3sgte motor you'll be happier in the long run. Parts for the 3sfe/5sfe is very limited.

Hey wussup. I have a 3S Fe if motor and Im debateing on getting an oil cath can or not. What do they do and can I use any one or do I need one specifically for my engine? Can anyone help ne? any universial can will work just fine. Basically it just helps keep the unwanted vapors out of your engine. Cool. Yeah I didnt know if I needed a turbo and I wasn't sure exactly what an OCC did. Besides an engine swap is there any other way I can get more power out of my 3s Fe motor? depends on how much $ you have but for low $, really nothing. if you have the $...performance camshafts, header, exhaust, oversized pistons, fuel controller for tuning. headers my GT only has one header, does your have 2 ? j/k -------------------- |

an oil catCh can, is used to capture moisture, oil, and blow by gasses that would go into your intake system and build up carbon and sludge. Basically, you don't really need one. It's most of the time just used for engine dress up and nothing really performance oriented, but i guess it could help. They are not really specific for your engine so anyone should work. It's definitely not just an engine dress up item. A lot of vehicles have a poor PVC system that results in excess oil droplets and vapors being pulled into the induction system. Along with sludge and gunk in the induction piping, throttle body, and intake manifold, this can also cause other issues such as fouling and sticking of the IAC, and more importantly the excess oil/vapors being burned can and will cause pinging and knocking during the combustion process as well as being mis-read by the O2 as excess unburned fuel, in which case the computer will lean out the fuel mixture quite possibly creating dangerously lean condition. Now, not all vehicles are at risk of these PCV issues. Keep an eye on your system, and if you start seeing the oil and build-up, do a home made Catch Can as a test and see what happens. A simple Air/Water separator for air compressors available at Lowes, Home Depot, or Sears works like a champ and is easily plumbed in-line with your PCV lines on the car. The advantage to the commonly available air/water separators is that they have glass viewing windows to actually see if you're catching anything.
