crap, when i bought my 6th gen, water had been in the high beam for so long, it was brown and green.
I drilled a hole into the bottom of the assy to lett the water out (toilet effect) but the damn thing is so dirty, i plan to just replace it. they are cheap enough (i'm scared to open it, the smell would probably hurt someone.) Otherwise you can remove the lense, and clean it out. Re-seal it better than origonal. Or just add some scilicone to the outside. IDK. where are your rubber gaskets? -------------------- QUOTE (presure2 @ Nov 6, 2010 - 6:16 AM) Via FB: fcuking awsome!!! D-man FTW! Damn D-Man - most impressive. D-Man - I'm getting projector highs in a few weeks so you can get mine cheap ![]() You mean clear highs Death?? Unless you're doing custom projector highs. ![]() edit: abt the problem I guess you can take the bulbs out of the housing and use a hairdyer to blow hot air into the highs. That way you dont have to open them. This post has been edited by lubu: Aug 15, 2008 - 12:02 PM -------------------- ![]() 98% completion --- aaRon |

I drilled a hole into the bottom of the assy to lett the water out (toilet effect) but the damn thing is so dirty, i plan to just replace it. I did the same a long time ago. Then I took some bleach/water mix and sprayed it in the back (through the bulb hole) and it cleaned up the inside pretty good. The mix drains out the hole and just leave the bulb out for a day it dries everything up. -------------------- |

well the rubber seals are on the outside and seem secure and theres only water in the drivers side high beam...do you have to take the whole front clip off to access the headlight assemblies? also as a side note does anyone know where i can get the clips that hold the rubber seals on...particularly for the main lights it (the seal) is only coming off on one of them
thanks |

Yes. You have to remove your bumper to access your headlights.
The clips can be purchased at your local toyota parts dealership. EDIT: cant find the part number. Just describe it to your local parts dealer. The rubber gasket have no clip to hold them..that's why you can't find a part number!
use silicon to reglue them back, then use masking tape overnight so they don't slide around while it's still gooey, in the morning, remove tape. -------------------- ![]() -Rémy 02 SiR, 08 250R |

There are little "C" clips that hold em on.Those clips are parts of the headlights(you cant buy them seperately), and they are there to hold the lense to the housing, not the rubbers... if it was the case you could buy them by the units...I dismantled alot of headlights and those clips were never there to hold the rubbers. -------------------- ![]() -Rémy 02 SiR, 08 250R |

The clips are to hold the lense NOT the rubber to the housing, only for the lows though, as for the highs the rubbers attach to the bumper.

There are clips for both the lens and the rubber gasket on the low-beam light. They appear to be the same, and you can get them from a dealer. However, the ones that hold the rubber do nothing to protect the integrity of the light. They merely help keep the rubber in place, which serves to keep road dirt from getting in around the light. The clips and rubbery goopy glue (don't get overwhelmed by my use of technical terminology

I'm another with the exact same problem; water in (DS high-beam) headlight.
At first, I assumed it was somehow travelling and getting into the bulb hole except that area remains dusty and never looks wet. You guys all seem to be saying that it's coming in the front and that it's all due to do loose/leaky/faulty rubber seals. I feel kinda stupid asking but.. what rubber seals? Are the rubber seals you're talking about around the headlight assembly and hidden behind the bumper or can you clearly see yours from the outside? Because if it's the latter, I'm getting the feeling that all mine are missing! That would explain a few things. Should you be able to see a rubber seal in this photo? |

yes there is a supposed to be a rubber seal. you don't need a photo, just look at your low beams and they are just like the ones for the highs, except that for the high beams, they are attached to the bumper i believe.
