I decided to have a go with scratch remover today after wanting to remove swirls/scratches my paint had. I bought 3M Scratch Remover for $7 from Wal-Mart, comes in an 8oz. bottle. I started using it, and the surface already started looking fantastic. Then came my roof, I couldn't believe what I saw:
Pretty much the whole car was like this (where there was original paint). I'm guessing it was years and years of road grime, and this stuff removed it like it was nothing. Here was how my spoiler looked: As far as scratches went, it also did very well at eliminating scuffs and minor scratches (it did cover some noticeable medium/heavy scratches I had pretty decently). Afterwards I put on a new coat of Eagle One Nanotec wax, the car looks better than it has in years. Sorry for lack of pics with the final product, I finished around sunset. I'll get some pictures tomorrow showing the final result. |

I should do this too, I've always said I'd throw in a really good detail once...
Not to jack the thread, but is there anyway to clean the dirt out of the seat other than steam cleaning? |

Do you mean the South Texas meet? I hardly have any free time anymore due to school, and I'm not exactly rolling in any money at the moment. -Matt |

It looks like it removed years of build up, more then it did the scratches. Claybar would have probably given you similar results.
To really take out the scratches, you need a compound like that, with a rotary buffer. -------------------- 15PSI - 30MPG - Megasquirt Tuned

On the case it shows a black car, so it should be able to work. For those asking, I did my whole car. Here are pics of the final result: -Matt This post has been edited by GotToyota: Sep 6, 2008 - 10:19 PM |

I love those wheels, I gotta get some of them, will they just fit straight on our cars or will they need spacers?
