yeah i know cuz both my cousins have a type S and gt-s. drove both cars, love the gts for styling, and had a love/hate thing for the type S.

They are nice cars, if you liked the celica, you will definitly love the type-S. Only downside IMO is you need premium fuel, but meh ...

Type S was fun. I almost bought one about a month ago. It was tough to get used to having that 6th gear. LOL. Sadly I wasn't ever able to go WOT though because I had the dealer in the car with me and didn't want to upset the guy I was with. He was already kinda touchy about all the little things like if there was a pot hole anywhere in my lane he would point it out although I never hit a single one.

<3 DC5

My co-op was at the local Acura Dealership and I have a personal bias towards these cars. The mechanic I helped out used to go out WOT on the city streets in Integras, it was good fun. The only car we didn't get to have fun with was the local NSX.

They're pretty reliable, we didn't have any major issues. We did have one RSX that was plagued with an epic electrical bug (I think it was harness or ECU but we had to take it apart to figure it out) and one of the 2002s head was warped (from improper maintenance) but aside from those two, every RSX that came in, came for an oil change or tires.

The premium fuel thing is not that bad, IMO you should be using 89 or 91 anyways. The gas dealers around here water down the 87 octane. Its only a few bucks more a fill.

Not bad if you like FWD cars. Even though mine is FWD right now, I am not going to stick with that forever. I will do whatever I can to avoid them. Still though, not a bad run for your money and I do understand they can be pretty mean.

my brother had a 2004 A-Spec, i always loved driving it, it was the slowest car in comparison to our other cars at the time, but it was the most fun to drive!!

The only thing is the A/C sucks, took forever for the car to get cold, then the a/c compressor blew at 46,000 miles, had a brand new acura installed and it still sucked... frown.gif

it got traded in for a jetta :S

BTW i have the jdm black housing headlights for it if you want to buy them once you get it smile.gif

Hahaha IMO its not that bad. Not as good as a Celica but not as bad as some car's I've had to give oil changes to. I remember it was pretty hard to get at, at first, because there were a lot of things that get in the way but there were a few different angles you could attack it from and you had to switch between them. Of course it might be MORE of a pain in the ass if you don't have a hoist to lift the car up.

I think they were discontinued because the Civic Coupe SI was getting very comparable. It used to be that the civic was smaller and different from the Integra and was offered with smaller displacement engines. But the Civic Coupe has really grown and it shares the same engine and the same niche market as the Integra. One of them had to go. Plus I think Car companies have been cutting back on actual sport models and just offering sport versions of their more mundane cars. Its much easier to produce a vehicle this way.

It would be nice to see the Prelude and Integra back, but it might just cost way too much money.

no never heard of a transmission problem for the RSX/Integra.

The only transmission problem I ever heard about at Acura was the 3.2L V6 automatic transmission (TL & CL)
