ah the thing is, i never dumped my clutch, im real anal about doing stuff like that, however as far as trannys go, i wish i knew where else to grab an e153 in short notice but i decided to go ahead with the s53 again. rolleyes.gif (quick shifting here i come once again)

2 jets!? cool! but at the same time, idk about spraying into the i/c. most of the guys here tap in right before the TB. i hear its more efficient. check this water injection thread lagos made

http://i65.photobucket.com/albums/h224/lag...on/P1010147.jpg

(i know lagos, itchy, pressure, batman, death, and plyr are saying "HOT DAMN! that boy FINALLY used the search button! hallenujah! laugh.gif )

yup you can use that its not only efficient it will cool quicker biggrin.gif, and short shift thts they way u should go with biggrin.gif

theyre in the final stages of mocking up the manifold to send it to the tig welder. (for the wastegate) It needs a few more adjustments. Because this is a 4th gen engine, they had to have a flange made b/c we could not find anyone who made a flange to build off of. So far all the parts are stainless and the flanges are all waterjetted.

i cant wait to take her out and rip the asphalt apart!

looks great, are you using a previous gen manifold off ebay? and then mated it to the new flange?

they took them out for now, they were just mocking everythign up to see how they would fit. that turbo looks a little close to the radiator from one angle, but should be ok enough for the fans to squeeze in cwm13.gif

why is the wastegate only tapped into 1 runner?
tweek, are you concerned about boost creep with that setup??
the old turbonetics manifold (and cheapo ebay copies) had it setup like that, with the wastegate off one runner, and everyone who ran it had terrible boost creep issues.
also, why over the axle with 3"? dont it kinda negate the benifit of having 3" having to route it like that?

make sure the hood closes without touching the IC piping. everything " looks " nice and shinny when do you think you'll be enjoying all the power again ?

good point! but i have an aftermarket hood (vis vented c/f) , and it seems to have a bit higher clearance.

i should be enjoying the power this weekend biggrin.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif hopefully! i cant get it dyno tuned there (dynojet not in yet and another shop is booked) so they will street tune it and i will come back to dyno it.

see the fans ferris? didnt have them in at first to make fitment adjustments.

i sure hope that CAT is gutted kindasad.gif nc dosent inspect emissions on cars before 96

those are two of my noticed concerns as well.
Over axle will not make any really noticeable difference )1-2hp maybe?!) but eh.
the wastegate is a larger issue that should be addressed though.

That's a nice highflow cat - leave it alone. There is no use trying to get .0001 HP and polluting any more than you have to.
Nice setup Matt - I expect you to run in the mid 13's now tongue.gif

from what i understand, there was also fitment issues with the manifold and w/g placement, but i am wondering about boost creep

Hey guys,

As most of you know I do almost only wiring now, I oversee swaps at SCC that are being done on my customer's cars when they need help. My comments on the build:

1. The over-axle was my choice and is by far the best way to do it. It's the way it's ran factory, with mandrel-bent piping the extra couple bends aren't going to hurt the flow and it comes out very clean. The whole "under axle is better" notion comes from lazy/unskilled fabricators who have told their customers that going under the axle is "better", simply because they were either unable or unwilling to do it the right way.

2. Having the wastegate going into one runner was a solution to a logistical problem faced by the guys at SCC who did the build. It wouldn't have been my first choice but seeing the small amount of space they had to work with I can see why they did it that way. The manifold is a SINGLE-entry going to a single-entry turbo, so technically all four runners are in the same chamber, and the pressure in that chamber should be able to vent through the wastegate without causing boost creep. I guess we'll know for sure once it's on the road smile.gif

3. The intercooler piping easily clears the hood, it's taking the same route that it did when I personally did the swap the first time last year, except that now it's welded smile.gif
