I don't think that is a problem bc Corey Silver94CelicaOwner has the st205 swap in his car ...........he has the stock hood and I believe he had zero fitment issues as far as the hood goes..you can always look up his build thread to be sure.

EDIT: you should go by the shop and take plenty of picture and get them up...I would have the members on here look at the progress......maybe they could see if anything stands out that the mechanic might be doing wrong

Doing next to zero research on your swap and handing it over to a random mechanic.... priceless.

Umm, is a 1995 toyota celica USDM ST202? im not quite sure the difference. my car is a 1995 celica GT USDM, so i thought it was ST202.

case in point.

There are a bizzlion other things you don't know about your car and the motor you're having put into it. Research and knowledge is the one thing you can't buy or not have with a situation like this. Also, I would never hand my car over to a guy for this kind of work to be done and not have great communication with him. There are going to be issues/problems that pop up and with you and him not being to understand each other, eek. That scares me.

and with that said, as Shannon said the IC shouldn't be problem with a stock hood.
If you have any other problems/questions, post them up. I'm sure we'll all try to help.

Hey guys,

Ok I took some pictures when i visited my car for the first time in about 2 weeks.. My mechanic has my old engine out and is finally ready to put the new motor in.. we resolved the engine size issue, so hes ready 2 roll! i have an 3sgte album on photbucket with the pics, heres the link:

http://s396.photobucket.com/albums/pp42/GT...4/3sgte%20swap/

I would say the conversion will be about 65% complete when the motor is fully swapped.. the rear end is about 90% converted

and put an gt4 emblem on..

please don't put on a GT-Four emblem, it's just not right.
Your car is not a GT-Four, it does not have 4 wheel drive.

Well thats your opinion batman.. you go by yours.. I go by mine.. Im doing a complete celica GT4 project.. so when its its all said and done ill have the AWD drive conversion also.. thus the reason for the badge. Im not doing an "GT-2" project.. I want that AWD power.. or else i would have looked for that badge smile.gif.. thanks for your opinion though

lol naw man thats too extreme for an AWD conversion haha.. but i do know someone thats cutting their whole frint end in half and welding in an 3sgte front nose.. lololololol crzy but he insists.. but yea hopefully when this 1st stage is done ill save up for that AWD drive conversion.. i think it may cost more than the swap though.. on ebay this guy was selling the st205 diffs, subframe, and axels for like $2500.. so put that with the price of installation.. eek imma need at least $5000 saved up lol.. and thanks 4 the complement man i appreciate it..

if you do have AWD I would agree you should have that emblem on your car.

Since you don't have AWD "yet" why not just wait put the emblem on when it's completed, or just keep it on and be a ricer, it's up to you.

everyone who owns a GT has a GT-2 (GT with 2 wheel drive), you just have a GT with a st205 motor in it, ...almost. Do you have the GT-Four brakes ? or maybe the GT-Four gas tank/rear floor/SS suspension/ect.. or just a US GT with a st205 motor in it ?...almost rolleyes.gif

just be realistic about it and just don't badge it a "GT-Four" when it's nowhere close to being one. That's ghey.

I see another robdrummer in the making...

Im really getting more and more interest into just turboing my 5sfe engine, i was checking out some turbo kits on ebay for an 5sfe engine.. and 1 guy is selling an rebuilt turbo kit taken out from his 5sfe engine for only 200 bucks plus 60 shipping.. so im just wondering if this is a good idea, not in terms of buying his rebuilt engine.. but turboing my engine period. I mean i still want an Gt4, but im thinking maybe ill hold that off till i graduate and just buy another GT and dp the swap.. b/c i really love celicas smile.gif... and I also think I can do it myself!!!

heres the link to the turbo kit taken from an 5sfe engine:

i think u should just do the swap since you have the motor there already with you...there is no point in spending more money when u can dump the extra cash your going to use on turboing your 5s...but its really up to u if you want to do that..

turbo 5s or 3rd gen swap, i choose the third gen swap anyday..
