Ok so I was on my way to school today and i was late as usual. there were 2 cars going under the speed limit. so i see a passing zone pop up. I decided to pass and i see a 3rd car. so i was halfway done passing so i figuerd id jsut pass the other guy. next thing i know i haver this toyota truck on my tail. i see no lights or anything. i pulled into the school and parked. the guys gets outta his truck and asks for my license. i noticed he wasnt in full uniform. he had his blue top on and the black pants but had no belt on with the guns, handcuffs, etc. so it wasnt full uniform. i gave him my license and he wrote down some number and said that i will get a citaiton in teh mail. He didnt say who he was or anything. i couldnt even tell what police station he was from. Should i fight this? it doesnt seem right. he was definatly off duty.

If you exceeded the speed limit passing the people you were speeding.

off duty can't do it.

ALWAYS ALWAYS ask to see a badge and they can't just mail you a citation later

dude... that could have been anyone... it could have been a freaking mall security guard that was pissed off at you for passing him. now he knows your name, address, and DL number You should be worried. Damn, i bet he sells it to the crazy-knife guy that is after you for bangin' his chick

lol. yea ive had some bad luck lately. it should all pass soon. but what im going to do is find out when the officer is off duty and will get a court date for wehn hes of duty. Cops wont show up to that stuff when they are off duty

Bad luck lately is different from bad decisions lately.

well i do know is that a off duty cops can arrest you if you did something illegal like rob a bank and stuff like that..but yeah if i was you fight it. most likely the cop will forget about it and never file anything.

I still say he's a mall security guard that's in cahoots with the crazy knife guy and they're coming for you...

in NJ you have to be super extra lucky to pull that one off, police officers get paid over time just to be in court, they love it. and that ticket you can fight it, I'm not saying you'll win but you can fight it. remember is a case like this is his word against yours unless you had a passenger.

in some unmarked cars ive seen cops in just a polo and khaki's, but they had their gun and badge on them

thats some LAPD stuff that you see in the movies right there...

Don't drive/act like a douchebag and you wont be hassled.

Same we have all sorts of things like that by us....i was pulled over by a undercover cop once that was in swat gear minus the helmet..that was scary.

i keep seeing chargers too. saw a few around my area. sucks for when i get older and get into a giant car chase with my celi.

thats how i want to die when i am old. be in my celi, giant cop chase and run off a cliff.

He might have been just trying to scare you..I wouldn't worry until you actually get a ticket in the mail.

A random guy comes up to you and ask you for your license? And you just hand it over? For reals?

I take it that you've already met a wallet inspector before?

Ugh...dude, seriously. I know being young(er) puts you at a disadvantage (lack of experience) but next time someone comes up to you, whether it be a cop or anyone else, stand your ground! Don't just willingly offer info unless you determine that it is necessary.

i dont remember asking for opinions about my driving. I was late for school. i know it was dumb i wasnt thinkin straight. So my suggestion is to not call me a douchebag and no trash my thread with that garbage. Im was just curious on if the off duty cop was in the wrong. besides its not like ur a perfect driving angel, im sure uve done something stupid on the road and ended up kicking yourself later. Everyone has.


CAMA- I know, usually i stand my ground with that stuff, it didnt cross my mind that i ddint ahve to give him my license till after i handed it to him haha. I think it was that fact it was 8am and i didnt wanna be late so it would get him outta there faster. But im usually smarter with this stuff.
