I wasn't aware that there is a CS version of the ST202? I thought the CS's were all special editions of the ST185 GT4's?

This is the first ive heared of a carlos sainz 202, or a carlos sainz anything (appart from a 185)
The EU version of the aus ST185 Group A Rallye/ jdm RC was called the carlos sainz, Ide be emailing your toyota and finding out. If its a genuine thing then your chassis number should relate to that plaque number. As for the numbering, i dont know how many CS cars were delivered to EU, i think 5000 were made in total, 150 to aus. So its possible it was snaked from another car. The badge i dont recognise but being from aus, and the CS being a EU car its not supprising. let us know. -------------------- ST205 Group A Rallye GT-Four, #61 of 77............600hp GT3582r

hi, my '98 ST202 (EU version) has this plate bellow cup holder. Does anyone have more information what was included in this special edition? thanks f. Post some more pics of your car so we can see if there are any other things that might point it to being a special edition that is so rare that nobody here has ever heard of them. I'm guessing that it most likely was just taken off an st185 but I don't know for sure. -------------------- |

Yeah I'd like to know what you have in your ST202, does that mean Euro GT ? 3S-GE? Is it beams? 1998 JDM ST202 got 3S-GE Beams for SS-II+ (Equiv to Euro GT)
I notice leather seats, do you have superstrut suspension? -------------------- Mike W

More pictures later... Car was imported from Italy, so maybe Toyota had some special edition for their market. |

I've found this autoscout.it Mine is same (color etc.), but mine has leather seats. Apparently this was limited edition for Italian market. I've googled Italian forums and found few informations. It included sparco pedals and that plate. |

there is no way that in 1998 they would have a Carlos Sainz edition st202.
All CS editions were on the st185s, not the 6 gens. Not even the st205 were called Carlos Sainz editions, they were called WRCs and they have their own badge. The plate was put there by someone who thought it was cool. That's all. -------------------- |

Seems they were indeed a itallian limited edition of 202's. italian forum link didnt do a translation, you dont need to, with my very very limited italian i can work out what that dude is talking about. Very very interesting, i wonder how many other special edition models we dont know about exists. case closed. -------------------- ST205 Group A Rallye GT-Four, #61 of 77............600hp GT3582r
