bump..only two more days. I hope we still have a good turn out.

One of my friends might join up with us at some point since he is going to be in Portland anyway this weekend, if you guys don't mind a GTI rolling with the 6th gens.

I have some stuff going on and can't afford this right now, the turnout
for the NW is pathetic, Pressure2 has this many celicas in his driveway
on about any given day.

Sorry I know a few of you guys are going and I hope you have fun, but it is a 4 hour
drive for me, I just can't do it.

Thanks Ray, I really want to go, but when all is said and done the trip is going to be a couple hundred bucks
and 8 hrs driving. You know how far I am from Seattle add another hour and thats how far it is for me to Portland. frown.gif

I'm out too— my car is totally DOA right now. It wasn't the clutch master cylinder or slave cylinder; at this point the best case scenario is it's the clutch itself, so while you guys are enjoying what will probably be the last sunny Saturday we have for 8 months, I will be figuring out how to pull the transmission out of my car. Sorry...

Same, sorry guys, but the more I think about it, the more it just doesn't seem worth it if there will only be like 4 or 5 people there and its a 6 hour round trip for me.

Have fun and take lots of pics to post up!

Looking at how this meet is falling apart, I gotta say even after 10 year on the left coast, it's true what they say about it back east, we really are a bunch of flakes LOL

Updated list

So i'll PM the only two people who havent said no yet (probablly cause they just havent signed on yet)

Griff Girl sorry about your car, that isn't your fault, and you drove the three hours to seattle like me for their meet so you are in the clear from my wrath...
97lestyousay 8 hours is a bitch of a drive(been there done it a couple of times and it blows) But why is it going to cost you a couple hundred dollars? is something wrong with your car? i figure you'd put around 550miles on your car here, driving around, and back home, that should only be 2 tanks of gas...

So i am done. I have planned, re-planned and re-planned a portland meet like 4 times now. Changing weekends, changing months, whatever i could so that it would work for the most people. I spent a whole day driving around to all the locations, even taking pictures figuring out how long it would take to do everything, wasting my time and money so that i could give a nice itinerary for everyone to read and understand, and then everyone bails last minute. again. I am tired of it, so i give up. Meets only work if people actually come. everyone goes on the "Maybe" list waiting to see if there is enough people who will say "yes i am going". But then everyone just waits on the maybe list cause they wont put themselves on the attending list.

Any one else is welcome to try a plan a meet down here, go for it, but i wont, not again, i'll show up, hell you can even use the same game plan i have laid out here, i dont care. But i dont want to hear any bitch about how there are never any meets down here. Me and griff drove 3 hours up to seattle to go to their meet, and we didnt whine and whiper about it, we just went were happy to go, to meet other celica enthusiasts, see what you guys have done to your cars, and so forth, i was hoping to see a little bit more support from people up there, i know there is more than just celica buddy and 96bluevert.

So whatever, im just glad i read this before i left to go wash and detail my car for tomorrow.

yeah I need a new tire, I need to fix it anyway but not right now, I have the stockies but
I don't feel like changing all 4 for a problem with one. I know you have been
trying to get this going and I am sorry to bail on you. As far as the NW being
lame, I think it has to do more with the size of the states out here than anything
else and the consolidation of cars, you might get people from a five state area back east
but all five states would fit in one WA or OR. kindasad.gif Hopefully this spring I will have
some other projects finished and make a weekend out of it.

Oh I was totally being facetious about the NW being lame - it's not like we all just sat around and were like Oh, the game's on, can't make it, or whatever. Life happens, there's valid reasons for bailing, and definitely the proximity to one another plays a factor in that for most of us one way or the other.

Scott, I'm sorry the meet fell apart too, and for whatever it's worth, I'm sure I speak for everyone when I say that your time, energy and efforts are very much appreciated.

I wasn't commenting on what you said griff I was really looking forward to meeting you, maybe more than anyone else.

A lot of the long time members from the NW have moved on, sad but true. We have to start a new generation
of 6gc.net members, the kind that keep their cars.

Maybe the economy is too good out here, people move up in pay, trade the celi,
and the cycle starts over again, no one keeps them long enough to really become
a established member, yeah thats it, the economy is too good.lol

I remember a HIN meet in seattle where we had 11 cars. Caravans help, getting people to cruise up together.
Also because of distances one day meets are harder than weekend meets. I have alway liked the idea
of a gorge meet for the parks and camping aspect and somewhere a little more central, but then the seattle people
end up with a longer drive, I need to look at some maps to see where celica central is.
