You can take your car to a place like Autozone, they will check the code that your engine is throwing for free. =)

No, it looks like a hooker put her acid vag on your hood. Acid vag = bigger problem than a few dings.

not sure if you can do an OBD past a 96 model with the paper clip OBD. I know its for 95 below. Could be anything from sensor to leaks.

ok well i just got back from autozone and it seems like my car is throwing a P0420 code which is my catalyst efficiency low bank-1. It says the probable causes can be the catalytic converter is defective. Engine misfire or running condition. Large vacuum leak or engine oil leakage into exhaust valve guide seals piston rings. So what do you guys suggest i do..just bring it to a shop or can i tackle this job by myself and if i can, where do i start im a noob but wants to start working on cars!

In this case you're best taking it to a shop, especially since you don't know much about this stuff.
Even if you know what you're doing this is a code you can't troubleshoot without a scan tool [not a code reader, an actual scan tool that you can monitor the ECU data on].

However, if you want to throw parts at it, it's most likely either the cat or your post [after cat] O2 sensor.
The O2 sensor is much cheaper, but the cat is slightly more likely [because you don't have any O2 related codes].
