Well the gear ratio comes from what tranny is bolted up to them.

thanx bro

i used 3sfe manual trans with 3sge beams redtop....(3sfe trans for Gen 3 celica)

so i want to know the difference in the gear ratio between 3sfe and 3sge beams redtop.

because maybe the gear ratio effects in the power that come out from the engine

i hope u get my idea ^_^"

3rd gen is RWD so I doubt you used that - I think you must mean 4th gen.
We'd have to know the series number of the trans and possibly the exact donor vehicle as well.
BTW - There is alot more than gear ratios that you loose from the BEAMs trans - it also has LSD and bigger drive shafts. I'd def try to source an E153 with LSD for this application.

Automatic 3sge transmission is the A140E.
1st - 2.810:1
2nd - 1.549:1
3rd - 1.000:1
4th - 0.706:1
Rev - 2.296:1

and i believe the manual 3sfe tranny will be one of the S series transmissions

Anyone have multiple S54 ratios? I've had 3S-FE and 3S-GE both with S54, FE ('95 ss1,st202 ) had S54-04A and GE ('96 ss3 with lsd, st202, not beams) has S54-06D.

The 06D is more revvy than the 04A.

Wouldn't that be more a function of engine power? We are talking about the FE versus the GE in conjunction with two slightly different versions of the same tranny.........so you have two variables here. Even if the FE and the GE had the same HP, it would be entirely conceivable that the flywheel on one engine was lighter than the other. But these engine don't have the horsepower; The GE has more and, if my memory serves me correctly, the 3SFE in all incarnations had a heavier flywheel. I've also thumbed through BGB RM380E a number of times and nowhere in the S54 section does it make any mention of it having different gearing versions. So just to take a random stab at an answer I'll go ahead and attribute the "revvy" 06D to having access to a more powerful engine. Any takers?

I know the GE is more powerful, But what I meant by "revvy" is that cruising RPMs are higher in the GE's S54 than they are in the FE's S54

Eg, at 100KM/H aka 60MPH, My RPM in 5th gear in the FE was only a fraction higher than the 3K mark, In the GE the RPM is closer to the 3.5K mark

Final drive. LSD or not would make the difference.

Check your ECU, if it's a A/T ECU, try to find a M/T ECU,they are different. genuine parts No.#89661-2G080, I have the same problem before and this is my scound gear box,but there is no changes, finally I plug a M/T ECU on , the problem is gone.

When i say just over its about a needle width, could just be error in the speedo either way.
