I don't have any way to draw on the pic itself but it should be really obvious from this pic which type of weld I'm talking about. The one to the left of the red bit there is really really bad. It appears you may have forgot to open your gas valve due to the cavities visible even in these pics. Also it appears that it was not burned in very well but I can't really tell from here. You'd be surprised the difference between the forces exerted on those welds now vs what they will be when the car is on the road. If it were me I'd be making it as strong as possible and screw the weight [You've already added tons of that so make it right IMO].
Not coming down on your work at all - just trying to make sure you and the car stay as safe as possible.

BTW - You have excellent taste in tires biggrin.gif

Well Man SERIOUS RESPECT to you I apologise in advance but i will be howding you with questions the whole time man. The reason for that is i have an ST which im planning to make awd and putting in a 3sgte engine instead of my little 7afe engine. I have a full 92 gt4 shell with the engine and all the shafts and that. First question did you change over the gear shifter after new engine or the stock work for you.

the 5th gen celica rear end is narrower by a few inches.
can you use the parts? prolly, but its gonna be narrower in the rear, than in the front, which i imagine will NOT be good for handling at all. lol
and if you dont know which shifter you would use, you need to stop dreaming about the AWD swap, and start learning about these cars. wink.gif

I agree with pressure....well almost... I believe the axles are what makes it shorter... its the same rear so st205 axles may make up the inches you need

Thanks for the advice appricate that but have made measurments and look into this for over a year before starting it and the stock can be used but no harm in having other opinions on the topic from people that would have a little more experience on the topic.

Thats right pipes the shafts and rear dift will all work fine but you are right will have to get st205 axles to make up the difference which will have it all sorted. smile.gif

from the pic, do you have enough clearance, it does not look like it, you barely make that 4 by 4. Seems like the axles are pointing downward instead of upward. I am no expert, but maybe thats ok. I was just pointing out. Make sure you weld it right. but in any ways, great job done

Well apparently I was a bit blunt in my previous post, sorry to you and Gman
congrats on the swap and awd. I was under the impression the entire
205 rear was going to be used. I hope it works out for you.

hes got aftermarket coilovers installed so im assuming he has it lowered quite a bit.. hence the little clearance under the car.

coilovers and reasonable lowering amount = \ _____ / look to control arms and axles...which is ok.
massive amounts of ground clearances is over rated...... if you can fit a key fob laying flat under your car thumbsup.gif.... being able to clear a 2x4 thumbsdown.gif
