I hate cops.
They have better stuff to do than to ****ing sit there and hide and laser people!!!??? ugh go solve a real crime, wow you caught me speeding good job, i hope you get a freaking medal for it!

I hate oregon speed zones 55 on a freeway come on now!

The last two times i've gotten tickets it has been when i wasnt paying attention to my speed and didnt realize i was doin 79, its not like i was doing it purpose!

the funny thing is that i decided i should stop to get some gas cause i might no make it into Washington to pump my own gas, being 12:45pm gas stations in oregon arent open, luckily i found one and put some gas in. Now if i hadn't done that i would have been watching my speed and doing like 60 the whole way home to make sure i got good gas mileage, but because i caught gas i didnt care if i was going over 60...

UGH im so done paying for their salaries!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah, tonight I saw four different cars pulled over by cops. All in a 5 mile radius. WTH? Do they have nothing better to do than hand out tickets for moving violations? I guess it's the end of the month and they got to meet quota.

Pigs.

Indeed, why should people paid to enforce laws which happen to include vehicles spend any time enforcing them?

Because people only obey the law if they think they might get caught. If the cops didn't spend time handing out tickets, the laws governing driving would be ignored.

Go argue with your local government over whether or not you feel the posted speed is reasonable, but don't complain that you chose to break the law and were caught, or weren't paying enough attention to your driving to realise you were doing 150% of the legal limit (by that logic, I sailed through a red light and killed someone, but it's not like I did it on purpose so it's not a big deal).

Highway is 55 here too.

Oregon gas stations aren't open at lunch time?

Galcobar is right. Detectives solve crimes, cops are just doing their job. Can't get angry because you got caught doing something illegal.

Yea he was just doin his job. if theres no calls comin in for bigger crimes than they have nothin else to do, and they cant help that no one else is comitting a worse crime at the time. if u were a cop u would do the same. it gets pretty boring out there.

My problem with police officers doing their "jobs" is when you need one, they take a few hours to get to you. Had my car broken into once, called the cops, they said they would be there in an hour. This was in the middle of winter in Massachusetts (snow, temp ~40 degrees). 4 hours later, I'm not kidding, I'm standing in the snow, waiting and waiting and waiting. Finally I decide just to drive my car (broken windows and glass an all) to the police station. I get there, not ONE freaking cop there to take my statement! Guy at the counter said, to sit in the lobby and wait for one to come back. It was about 10pm now...and I asked how long it'll be. He said, "About an hour."

Yeah, so I guess EVERY SINGLE COP in the city was doing their job for the last 4 hours and couldn't come to take an 10 minute statement on my broken-into car.

Let me preface my remarks by saying that I am certainly no advocate for cops. I feel that the majority of them are working out some sort of inferiority thing from their childhoods and have put themselves in a position that gives them power over others. That being said, there are cops out there who are just regular folks who need a job and managed to get hired by a locality for a steady salary and some decent benefits, and there are others still who legitimately want to help people. But regardless of which type of officer you might come in contact with, the bottom line is that if you break the law, you must be prepared to deal with the consequences in the event you are caught doing so.

Life is all about choices. You choose to speed, despite the chance that you may pass a cop and that he or she may pull you over and that the stop might result in a ticket, a fine, points on your license, jail time, or any or all of the above. I usually drive between 10 and 20 mph over the speed limit. I like to go fast, but in Virginia, 20 mph or more over any limit can be ticketed as reckless driving, which really ups the ante. I have chosen to accept the risk of a speeding ticket, but not a reckless driving ticket. If and when I do get pulled over, I look at the resulting fine as my dues for having sped my ass all over the countryside all the times that I got away with it. I gladly pay my dues and continue to speed. If I get caught too many times and the dues become higher than I am willing to pay, I chill out for a while. But it's still my choice, just like it's yours. If you make that choice, don't gripe when it turns out not to your liking. That pretty much goes for the rest of life as well.

if this is a recurring issue, with a different cop, dont you think you need to sit down and do some thinking.

if 95% of people drive reckless, god knows how many deaths, there will be. Laws were made to stop chaos.

I never understood people posting saying their pissed at cops because they went over the limit. That's a small inconvenience has been happening for the last 50 years and will still go on and on and on..get over it, pay your fine and be happy. If it wasn't for speed limits you'd see way more people getting killed from people going 120 mph just because they can. If you want to bitch about speeding laws, bitch about your politicans and city engineers! The police just enforce laws.

However I do agree they can slack to do a report on stuff like smashed windows, but guess what? That's their bottom priorities as nobody is in danger anymore, even less of a priority than a speedster. You shouldn't expect them to respond as fast as a bomb threat.

PS: By the way, alot of "real crime" is solved but randomly stopping speedsters, watch COPS and see what I mean...

Nutsell

1. Some cops suck, but they have a job to do and want to make that money as well (We can all understand that)
2. Don't do the crime if you can't pay the time
3. Only you can prevent forest fires
4. "And that goes for everyone of you. Don't pretend to be somebody you're not. Just be yourself, That's what's really cool." (guess what movie that came from)

I've never been pulled over, but I rarely speed. The one time that I did have an encounter with the cops I got lucky, and also just ran into some easier-going cops that luckily didn't pay enough attention.

It's true.
Only Legit94GT can prevent them.

The same theory applies to your speeding ticket collection. Only you can prevent them. wink.gif
