This is the engine from my 92' alltrac, I had a JDM installed and I'm selling the old engine.
I have a USDM 3S-GTE with about 60k miles on it. Mechanic who put in my JDM said it was in very good condition. The stock turbo bearings are compleatly destroyed, but I'm guessing that wont matter much here.... Nearly all the tubes and wires have been cut and need to be replaced. It's pretty much a compleate motor without the transmission. I put Royal Purple oil in it, changed every 2000-3000 miles. My car is compleatly stock. (well except for the jdm now I have some pictures from a cellphone, I'll post them soon as I can get them off the phone. It's about 2 hours away from me in a garage right now soon as I have a chance I'll bring a good camara to take better pictures if needed. Compleatly legal in states with emissions inspections. I will not sell parts off of it Buyer pays shipping, starting at $1500 you can e-mail me at zeros \at\ 0sanity.com or message me on aim -> mavenzz kthx This post has been edited by zeros: Oct 29, 2008 - 10:40 PM |

For those in Cali, it is ILLEGAL to drop in the 3sgte engine in exchange of your 7afe or 5sfe. The 3SGTE does not have a EGR and this particular engine is not CALI spec so can't be done.

If it's a USDM 3sgte, why doesn't it have EGR? It seemed to pass smog just fine in my Alltrac. I was under the impression that it was illegal to swap into any 6th Gen Celica due to the fact that the engine is from a 92 Celica, making it older than any 6th Gen Celica could be. -------------------- |

This is the USDM, it does have an EGR valve. Edit: CaliJeff just informed me in a PM that it's illegal to put an engine in a car that it did'nt come with in Cali. So yes, in California it's illegal to have a 3s-gte in a 6th gen celica. If you have a bad engine in a 5th gen, you can put this engine in it legally in california. This engine does have an EGR valve. Thanks for the clerification CaliJeff This is the engine from my 92' alltrac, I had a JDM installed and I'm selling the old engine. You are wrong about the EGR--USDM 3SGTE's have EGR (I've owned 2 all-tracs). It's the JDM versions that do not. The JDM intakes do not even have the holes drilled into the intake to be able to bolt EGR up to it--a USDM intake must be used. That being said, it is popular for people to remove EGR on a USDM car and just install block off plates. If anything, it would be illegal to drop a motor in a car that is older than the car it is going in to. Normally, only a same year or newer motor is considered a legal swap. I believe this was federal regulation at one point, e.g. not at the State level, but I don't know if or how the rule exists today. This post has been edited by mnwolftrack: Oct 31, 2008 - 9:08 AM |

Since you live close I can make arrangements for you to pick the engine up if you want to buy it. Now to figure out how to use this wire to post those pictures. Is that the engine you are selling? From what I see, the engine does not appear to have EGR, by looking at the intake manifold, it doesn't even have the holes drilled into it or the EGR valve going from the intake manifold to the head. I could be wrong though, the 3sgte I had was a 91, so the EGR location could have been different. Can anyone confirm this?

This is not the orignal stock engine, previous owner said it was replaced and had about 40k miles on it, the mechanic estimated about 60k from looking at it. He has lots of experience with import engine swaps, which is why I took the car to him. Heres the ECU, that I had sitting in my car when I drove home for some reason heh. |

that is a Jdm motor, which looks to be in horrible shape IMO.
change the title to reflect the motor. you should also add into the first post that the harness and all accessorys look to be in very bad shape as well. this is not a good "swap candidate". -------------------- Former Team 5SFTE pro member ;)

So just to confirm. You have a 92' Alltrac which had a JDM 3sgte in it already with only 60k in "good condition", and you swapped it out for a different JDM 3sgte? What was the reason? Could it have anything to do with this?

Could it have anything to do with this? http://www.6gc.net/forums/index.php?showto...mp;#entry686106 yup, I bought a new engine cause the repair shop said the cylinders were bad, took it to a mechanic who specialized in the car and he changed the engine for me, then informed me, after I already had the work done, that the old engine was fine and it was just the turbo that was making it smoking he did a really great job though, fabricated a new downpipe for me, and did a lot of paint and touchup work on engine bay to make it look nicer, he said he'll do any work I ever want on the car for cheep cause I paid him so much too, so all in all I can't complain. Now I have an extra engine out of the whole thing which brings me to this thread... I'm not trying to cheat anybody outta anything here, don't get me wrong. Toyota Todd will probly vouch for me and I know somebody else who frequents these forums, I dunno his forum name only his IRL name... maybe I can get him to post here for me tonight, he's gonna be at a house party I'm going to I thought it was a USDM but if it's JDM I'll need to update the topic. Can I get a second confirmation that it's a JDM and not a USDM This post has been edited by zeros: Nov 1, 2008 - 9:34 PM |
