Ive only had mine for 3months and abit, and its my first car. I dont ever plan on selling it ever ! (unless its truely unrepairable, or way too expensive to fix)
I dont see how people can get bored of a car and just trade it for another one, if its not broken why change it? Adding on to what ive said my car only has just reached 37282 miles / 60 000km, and its got a lifetime ahead of it and so do i, the only car id want to swap it with would be the new celica gt4 (depends on how it looks) but id defo be something id save up for. And even if i do get a new car (new celica) id probably just give my 6gc to my dad, i just wouldnt want to let it go and not see it again *insert tear here* Do you have any plans to sell your celica in the future? I always want to sell mine. No offense to Celicas. I absolutely love them. But the one I had before this one was immaculate. I'm not going to go into details, but it was a LOT better than my current Celica is. THe one I have now was leased to a guy named Ramone for the first 9 years of it's life. I've never met the guy, but it's amazing what you can find out through Carfax Anyway, judging on the condition of the car, I'm guessing Ramone loved to race it and when stuff broke, he fixed it himself without tools. None of the spark plugs were tight and I didn't find that out until one of them shot out and into my hood. Turns out he replaced the spark plugs with a socket and extension, but no ratchet. They were only hand tightened -_- Lucky for me only one shot out. Half of the interior plastics are broken and several screws were missing. So I am always tempted to sell this car and buy another one, but my final goal is to buy a Supra within the next 5 years. So I don't see the sense in throwing away my money on another Celica when I'm so close to a Supra. So until the day I got a Supra, I'm not selling my Celica.

I never planned to sell the celica, but things happen. Sometimes putting money into her you think you'll keep it, but it doesn't work that way. You'll realize the amount of money you've put in could've gone to something more practical.

If I can find a clean 97+ 240sx I'll be trading my celi in for it. I'll just have to wait and see what fate throws at me.

I'm in sort of the same boat as you whatthe, low km (60,000km) immaculate condition basically. for me its not the acutual mods themselves but the search pricing buying installing, although looking it her & driving is fun aswell
so yea I wouldn't sell it, maybe a GT-Four but it would have to be a very very good one (the ones usually for sale aren't that great) -------------------- |

I might have to let her go soon, but I also want to see the potential she could reach. OP, 32k miles and change is nothing...I just reached 70k and I thought that was low.

When i first bought my celica I loved it because it was a sporty looking stickshift 4 cylinder. It fit my requirments perfectly. But once I got over the whole 5spd thing and started to miss the pull of my old vr6, I hated the car. (all this occured within the first 4 months). I ended up hating the celica because its balls where cut off for the us market. However, about 3 months ago I had to put it into storage so I could go to school and have since fallen in love with it again. I dont care about its shortcomings anymore, or that people think its a girly car. Im determined to make practical and effective performance mods on one of the best modding platforms out there. If people can achieve such amazing results with an economy platform like the civic, imagine the potential of a race bred rally car =)

Everything comes to an end. I WILL eventually sell my celica, it just has to happen. I can only imagine the amount of cars that I would have to store if I didn't sell my vehicles through life. I also have a 2007 Chevy Silverado 2500HD with only 12,000 miles on it, I will also sell that in time. I just cant see holding onto cars forever. There has to come a point in my life where any of my vehicles are no longer used, impractical, old and not worth repairing/dumping money into, or I am in need of something different to fit my life at that point in time. But for know my truck is what makes me my money, and the celica is the one who eats it all
One day I will think about this time of my life and with a gratifying smile of evil and pleasure, I will say what a waste of money to my child who wants/starts modding his car (but thinking in my head...I wouldn't have changed a thing) This post has been edited by _Jim_: Nov 4, 2008 - 4:00 PM --------------------

i didn't plan on selling my Gen 5 Carlos Sainz Edition and sometimes to this day i wish i didn't sell up........ but when i was offered the orange ST205WRC with the power it was putting out i had to take it and trade the Sainz in against it. It'll be a long time before i part with the 205 with the amount of money i put into the engine, in the last 4months i could have bought another 2 205wrcs with the money spent. And the Sainz is back up for sale just wish i had the money to have it back on the drivaway again.

I'm not going to lie, my car is probably going to be run into the ground by me.
Its allready got 280,000kms on it, I expect I'll get about 100,000 more. -------------------- (\__/) (='.'=) This is bunny. Copy and paste bunny into your (")_(") signature to help him gain world domination. |

No.
She's my first car, my baby, and my longest relationship. I've had the car for close to five years now, I've put about 86k miles on it and invested about $12k into it. Right now and for the last 5 years, my Celica has been worth more to me than I would ever get for selling it. I don't foresee that changing anytime soon.
