Deep down I wish I could've swapped the celica, but this thing is pretty fun.

Story:
Picked the car up in September of 07, with "engine problem."

I tried to get the car running for a couple days but decided it wasn't worth the money or time to figure out what was wrong with it. So it sat for a while before I had some time to start ripping it apart.

During tear down I figured out why it had "engine problems"...

At least I made a crank puppy out of it

Over the next couple months I picked up a rebuilt 6 bolt motor and some other goodies. The car also just kinda sat there most of the winter because of no real time to work on it.

Finally got things all put back together about a month ago.

Ready for the first test drive

Before:

After:

She's no looker by any means on the outside but looks good enough for me.

Complete mod list:
Rebuilt 6 bolt w/balance shafts removed
272 DKS cams
DSMLink
AEM Fuel Rail
1600cc injectors
FP3065
FP exhaust Manifold
JM Fab "Race" Intake manifold
3" Megan down pipe
FP 2.5" o2 housing
tial 44mm wastegate
arp head studs
cometic head gasket
fp 4" intake
K&N filter
fp oil feed from head
fp oil drain
fp -4 inline filter
hallman pro boost controller
maf translator
msd wires
prothane motor mount inserts
sbr/kentics fmic
tial q bov
re-wired 255
tractor battery biggrin.gif
custom mount for said battery
Compeititon clutch stage 4 clutch
fidanza flywheel

Think thats all the major stuff.

Then it was off to get tuned on some e85.

Then calling in sick to go race it the day after getting it tuned.

11.7@126.

I think I really need a driver mod laugh.gif

Know its no swapped celica but I think its decently quick for what it is.

Plans for winter:
1. Get some slicks
2. Boost-a-pump (was running out of fuel with my single pump)
3. Dual valve springs
4. re-tune and hope for 500 on a dd dyno
5. make it look decent if I have any extra spare money

A 126 trap speed in an AWD car should be good for upper 10's. No pics so I am presuming it's an AWD car at least.

Yea its awd, and if I could drive and get it too hook I could lower my times alot. At the track I had bald nitto's on the 18s and just spun all of 1st then pretty much always bogged 2nd. With those tires on the street they would break loose at the top of second. Have some new tires on the stock rims and it seems a little better. But I'm hoping with a boost-a-pump and reving it higher with the new valve springs I'm hoping for a little more power. With that little bit more power plus some slicks I'm hoping for 10s or a couple broken axles laugh.gif

Including the car and all the mods I have just over 9k into it. If I counted what I parted out from the car it would probably only be a little over 8,500.

Thanks for all the compliments guys! smile.gif

Won't you need a cage if you hit 10's/

I think around here its anything 11.499 and quicker you need a 5 point cage, most just do a 6 point. I'm not really too sure on the rules as I figure I'll cross that bridge if I ever actually come to it.

There is a track in Iowa, where I ran the 11.7, where as long as you pay your entry fee they don't seem to care about much. My buddy was running low 12's in his super charged rsx without a helmet all day and they never said anything to him. I guess we'll see though, who knows I could never run better than 11.5 for all I know.

you mean high 11's on a GSR

good stuff, one of my friend lost his license in one of these, he built the engine while non licensed and got his license back a couple months ago, I think his has ~ 480 at the wheels, but he hasn't taken it to the 1/4 yet.

Having a lot of power under your right foot really does make you become responsible. 480 to the wheels on what kind of dyno and what kind of turbo setup?

the dyno is dynojet, his turbo set-up I don't know the specs, and nop lots of power hasn't made him responsible at all. instead, he's working on ways on how to not get caught, which we all know will fail. last time he tried to run from the police, he got away but they had his license number and went to the house to pick him up. lol
