Congrats on the new car, or newer anyway. thumbsup.gif

anyway, you really had to have expected some flaming, you did post a honda on a site full of toyota owners, so what you think is "harsh" is probably just the love we still feel for our cars.

Good luck, BOTH honda and toyota have great reliability. You should have no worries for a long time to come.

But manual to auto was kinda a fail though... tongue.gif

yeah, i guess you're right. there are a gizillion ways to rice out a civic smile.gif jk. whatever makes you happy man. dont listen to these guys. even though we have similiar mods, we stand out and we live far from one another lol so no one notices. me personally, i think those are the ugliest years of civic ever made. but again, it's what you like right? dont listen to these guys bashing. enjoy what you have bro smile.gif

I was only joking mate. The car looks fine to me, we don't get those kinda civics over here, so i don't really know what it's like. Our civics are ok, the type R's anyway smile.gif It could be worse, you coulda bought an American car smile.gif

Surely you didin't expect everyone on a Celica website to congratulate you on swapping your Celica for a Honda?

are you cereal?

They may be generic but at least there are 3438564858495 ways to customize it. Most of the Celica's on here have the same stuff.

I'll say this - put the right motor in it and those are the fastest year civics - I believe they are the lightest right? Some rediculously low weight like a MKI MR2 light almost. biggrin.gif

That's what I was thinking. With the right motor swap and a Turbo kit that car will be a monster [And it wouldn't cost 10K for that car - the joys of Honda to be sure]
IMO Honda = Toyota for reliablity

it's everything that's attached to the honda with zero reliability. Everyone that i've ever known to have one has random sh!t go wrong with it. Like an ex girlfriend of mine had a civic, and when she unpluged her radar dectectr from the cigg lighter, it blew the interior fuse, the signal/break lights fuse, wiper fuse and the foggs fuse. Just from unplugging something kindasad.gif the ac went out after 8 months. THe exhaust man. had loosened itself about the same time. Radiator fan fell off while driving ((and fluid went everywhere, i was driving behind when it happened, hallarious to watch, not so much fun to get beat up for laughing when she finaly pulled over laugh.gif ))

IDFK, in my exp. i would never own one. Nor a kia for that matter, i i've already given up on mercury products.

Sorry, but I gotta consider the source here - the guy who wants to turbo his car BEFORE giving it a basic tune up. Everything attached to it has zero reliability? I know first hand that that is absolutely FALSE. My ex has/had a '97 Civic (she wrecked it a year or so ago and now it's put away for when the kids get old enough) and she literally drove that thing into the ground and it NEVER ONCE broke down. She doesn't know jack about oil changes, fluid, NOTHING. The kids stomped the sh1t out of it, the dog ate it, everything you could imagine, and boy we took that car EVERYWHERE, on some serious road trips and through terrain that anything with 2WD should never see. That car, while in my opinion was ugly and had no guts, got GREAT gas mileage (40 mpg) and just took a beating like a champ.

So your one story about this chick's car? I guarantee you it's an isolated case. That story goes more along with many American cars. Manphibian is right.

LOL I saw that thing on the news the other night, and while they were showing it the weather guy's mike was on and he was like "OUCH! THAT'S gotta hurt!" It was funny as hell.

I own a Honda now... but it's one of these (not this exact one but same model)

biggrin.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif Happy birthday to me!

And ignorance on your part is that I have indeed driven a Civic. wink.gif A 2008 Fiji Blue Si coupe, to be exact...it was cool and definitely fast, but I didn't care for the interior ergonomics nor some of the exterior.

First, congrats on the newer car. If it makes you happy then screw everyone else.

On that note, that body style civic is by far the worst. I think the EP3 SI hatch was the best looking car from that generation. I personally wouldn't have traded a Celica for it, but that is just me.

However - with that said, it looks very clean. And as long as you're happy thats all that matters.
