Does anybody know what size the downpipe for the ebay header? Is it 2.5"? I'm planning on doing a full exhaust swap with 2.5" piping soon. Just want to make sure that everything with fit properly.

to my knowledge there are no 4-2-1 headers for the 5s produced at this time. You'd have to go custom (expensive). As for the CAI/SRI I recommend it. I've got a SRI and it sounds badass, my favorite mod so far.

Zeros2: i've seen st headers on ebay that are 4-2-1

Not sure on the outlet. It's safe to say it's 2.25" though.

The difference from 4-2-1 is pretty simple. When your pistons fire, they fire in a pattern. I can't remember exactly what it is, but it's usually like 1-3-2-4 or 3-1-2-4. So when you have exhaust exiting from one cylinder, you have another igniting right behind it. The section that has 2 pipes makes a huge difference in your exhaust. One side will literally pull exhaust out of the other side once it fires. Basically, it creates a vacuum, this in tern pulls more exhaust out quicker giving you much better flow.

4-2-1 are usually standard on all race bikes and cars. I'm lucky enough to have an akrapovic titanium exhaust on my '97 GSXR. Made the world of a difference.

If I remember correctly from reading about different header designs, a 4-1 will typically increase power at higher rpm ranges, while a 4-2-1 will increase HP at a lower range. My wife's 94 GT has a 4-1 on it and I can honstly feel an increase in power at around 4500rpm...but the car rarely sees those RPMs (only when I'm driving it wink.gif ), so a 4-2-1 seems to make more sense for the 5SFE...but as its been stated already, those aren't readily available. Time to make friends with a good welder!

The outlet for the ebay header is 2.25". Will it be good to go with 2.25 or 2.5 piping?

^^ For my GT I have a 2.5 and I love it. I would say stick with 2.5 inch exhaust for your GT as well

What ever you buy (especially if from ebay!!!!!!)
make sure it is for a celica and not a corolla (7afe)

i bought mine from ebay and they came up 8 inches or so too short to bolt up to the front of the cat.
turned out ok though because my bolts on the cat were rusted and rounded off.
i just cut the downpipe and welded on a flange and bolted the 2 together.
it looks ghetto as hell but flows well and sounds awesome.
i'm running a 20 dollar thrush turbo muffler from advance auto because i wanted something to growl under load but be quiet when idling and sitting in traffic.
it sounds awesome.

the ebay surewinproducts says that their header's outlet is 2.25" and directly bolts onto the stock downpipe. So gt's should have 2.25" stock piping? I thought that st's had 1.75".

I got a custom exhaust done that is 2.5 and it was way bigger than the stock exhaust. So I know that it wasn't 2.25

Ok. There is another header on ebay that says the outlet it 2.5". http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Toyota-Celi...A1%7C240%3A1318 Has anyone used this header? I know the header from surewinproducts fits without modifying anything, but its outlet is 2.25". Would it be better to have the 2.5" outlet on the header or just 2.25"?
