I think Death has in the bag. GriffGirl should about doing a calender with inteeriors for 2010. LoL. It'd be somethin totally different.

That's a really good idea to do a calendar featuring interiors! Maybe next year we can do it where it features exteriors but there's an inset (a little square in the corner or at the bottom of the month-grid page) that shows the interior of the car. Only challenge with this is interiors are kind of hard to photograph nicely... well that and people will have to actually clean out their cars! There's only so much photoshop can do! laugh.gif

x2 - it was hell trying to get that pic and no matter what they always look lighter than they really are - it's dark as midnight inside that car now.

I had suggested the inset thing earlier in the Calendar thing this year [With a really bad example] - what would be better I think would be to have on either side of the month a small pic that the owner of the car could use to highlight two specific areas of the car that they are proud of.
I'll make an example in a few. BRB

I used the Foliatec line of products.

That's good quality paint, used some of the brake caliper paint & it's held up for several years now on our AW11.

Good job painting all the pieces, looks very professional.
It's a little too much red for me personally, but I can certainly respect all the work you put into it.

That inset thing @ the beginning or end of the month is exactly what I was thinking. Even just as a way to highlight a certain feature of the car is a great idea - that way if someone has an excellent exterior but a crappy interior, the inset can just be a featured accent of the exterior, engine bay, whatever.

Hmm........

I did everything myself (except recovering the seats).
It took, what felt like, an eternity to do - masking up, prepping, painting (several coats), etc.
Well worth it in the end and I was very pleased with the results.
I used the Foliatec line of products.

So what is the secret? Is it that the paint is eggshell rather than gloss? Or is it the colour you chose? Or is it the photography?

That's a good idea for the calendar. But it's not even hard to clean the interior, mine's always clean as hell. But it's nothing special though.

Thanks Darth.
I did this back in 2003.
It was my first attmept at customising an interior.

I do know what you mean about a lot of red.
I don't have the car anymore but have a red GT4 and have just started a new interior project on this.
I wont be going with so much red this time - more red accents.

No secret really.
The colour is more of a gloss in reality so I think that the eggshell effect is partly down to the panels themselves and the photography.
I basically went out and bought the Foliatec undercoat/primer and Foliatec Red (there is 2 red colour types but I cant honestly remember which one I got).
The Foliatec undercoat is a base layer/sealant - 3/4 coats.
Then the Foliatec Red about 5/6 coats.
It took an eternity because after each coat I wanted it to dry properly before putting another coat on.
Also this made sure that it was evenly spread/finish.
The biggest difficulty I came across was masking the panels up to get a flow from front to rear.
The masking tape didn't stick/seal to the panels particularly well so ended up with overspray - a bit of white spirit sorted this out.

Do you have an ST205 or an ST185?
I have an ST185 & I just got a set of old school Recaro SR3 seats for it biggrin.gif
It's such a shame that ST205's were never imported here & they aren't legal otherwise I would own one. frown.gif
