A buddy of mine who works for Honda told me that Honda makes their brake rotors out of scrap metal left over from when they make the rest of the car, so he recommends that those get replaced with better ones as he has worked on a few with the OEM rotors and they cracked. How true can that be? I've no idea, but it's just something random I was told.
Nice car though. I thought about getting one of those before the Celica mainly cuz that body style is one of the few that doesn't get stolen here in town and it's got Honda reliability. As for the 3049867340 parts for the Civic compared to 249 parts for the Celica, it's all generally the same parts with different brand names; some with slightly better quality than others, but when it boils down to it, most are mass produced in China. How else do they keep up with the demand from tastefully done/riced out Civics? It's up to people like us 6GCers who let our creative juices flow and experiment with stuff to get us stuff like custom 7A-FTE exhaust manifolds, 5S-FTEs, 5S-GTEs, 1MZ swaps, and so on. That's where our aftermarket support comes from. Just my $.02 edit #2: now that I think about it, it's probably about demand. Silly me. And a coupe with a Camry motor isnt't? Ignorance is bliss if you haven't driven a Civic yourself. And ignorance on your part is that I have indeed driven a Civic. A 2008 Fiji Blue Si coupe, to be exact...it was cool and definitely fast, but I didn't care for the interior ergonomics nor some of the exterior. You're ignorant since you haven't driven the model Civic that you're mocking. |

Congrats on the car.
Its too bad everyone seems to be hating on it though. I like it. Its not necessarily the most stylish car around but it is certainly a platform that you can play with. I mean, its a perfect car to be a sleeper. It doesn't look like a ricer car (yet) and it drives a hell of a lot faster than my car does (and my car DOES look like a ricer car). Just get a K20 and you're set or there's even a small community that does great things with the D series, though you'd have to strengthen the bottom end a lot. -------------------- (\__/) (='.'=) This is bunny. If it was a free trade, I can't hate on you for that...but that's pretty high mileage for an 01. Screw it, I can't fight it. You go from a clean, crisp white Celica with nice rims and everything else to something like that? The Civic has NO style compared to the Celica. Makes me I'm sure it wasn't perfect, you can't expect any 13 year old car to be, but I see Civics just about everywhere I go...they're known as economy grocery-getters, unless you have an Si. At least Celicas have some old-school sports car rep. I think I'd know what a slow Celica is...7A-FE coupled to an automatic, aka...MY car. But they're at least somewhat cool...Civics are just so common. Plus you can say it backwards and it's the same thing, that's just weird. true statement although every1 got what they wanted new car with lower miles/older car with more class...and miles although i think the mileage part is somewhat insignificant cuz ones toyota and ones honda...i mean cmon You kidding me? Toyo > Honda Not really, you should've known. I can commend you on newer and lower miles, but other than that...it's a Civic. Not even an Si, just a Civic. Everybody has one and it's known as an econobox and not much else. Besides, you even went from a manual to an auto. :fail: You got what you wanted, right? And that makes YOU Good for you Honda makes great cars, enjoy! I just think they're boring, but that's a repost x 2 12314253245434 RJB- STFU and GTFO, not your car, not your thread, not your place to bash or repeatedly state your opinion.....
