I was wondering if anyone has purchased this header. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Toyota-Celi...sQ5fAccessories The reason I'm interested in it is due to the 2.5" outlet. I plan on doing 2.5" piping all the way back so I figured this header would be better. Just want to know if it fits well like the surewinproduct header. The surewinproduct header has a 2.25" outlet. Does it make a difference in the size of the outlet. Let me know what you think.

Ouch dude, relax with the use of your [sarcasm]. Obviously if you did some searching yourself you would have seen the OP did in fact search.

Ok. There is another header on ebay that says the outlet it 2.5". http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Toyota-Celi...A1%7C240%3A1318 Has anyone used this header? I know the header from surewinproducts fits without modifying anything, but its outlet is 2.25". Would it be better to have the 2.5" outlet on the header or just 2.25"?

I took that from one of the threads he posted on, he did not get an answer.

Also if you bothered to read his post at all you would have seen that he is NOT talking about the surewin headers.

Even so is it SUCH A BIG DEAL THAT YOU MUST YELL?! even if he was referring to that overly discussed surewin header? NO IT IS NOT!

/anger

SoDo, i dont know the quality of the headers. I would imagine with the larger opening it would have less of a restriction than the 2.25" opening.

sorry i can't help you more than that.

its all the same header, even if that one is 2.5" the 1/4 inch difference in pipe size will make zero impact upon performance. why make another thread then its already been beaten to death? of course he's going to get some **** for asking this. this is like asking on a ford forum 'whats the difference between a windsor and a cleaveland?'

Thanks Samir. I just wanted to know if there would be any difference between the headers. Wasnt sure if it would be better to have a 2.25 "or 2.5" outlet if you plan on getting 2.5" piping all the way back.

well i think it might help a bit more since engines need to breathe to get more hp so the less restriction on the way out would help, but any bigger than 2.5 with out a massive turbo prolly would be to much. this is just my opinion

No, it is not the same header. The same header would have a 2.25" outlet. Did you not learn similarities and differences in school? You and I are both human, so we're the same?! NOT.

/argument.

Practice what you preach, if you are telling this guy to search make sure you do it yourself to avoid looking like a jacka** next time. thumbsup.gif

although i really dont know for sure, i would say that having a 2.5" outlet would be better if you intend to do a 2.5", and once again i dont know for sure but if the actual piping from each exhaust "port" from the cylinders to help add up to the extra .25" between the two headers it would make a difference, even if its tiny.

Same question here: would that be a direct bolt on? How hard would it be to install??

The surewinproducts header is a direct bolt on. The header in this post should also be a direct bolt on to stock downpipe.

ok. I was doing some research on this since it was obviously been discussed so many times. I read something about not passing smog. So...installing the header will make the car illegal...?

And it was also said that it "gets too hot." What exactly is meant by that? Will it damage anything in the engine bay or wat? lol...sorry if my questions seem ignorant...i'm just trying to learn tongue.gif

Some say that they pass emissions, some say they dont. From what i've learned is that the stock heder has a cat built in it. I was planning on putting a hi flow cat after the downpipe to try to stay legal. Not sure if that will work, but ill talk to the muffler shop and see what they say. As far as heat from the header, not sure if it will get dangerously hot. The 5sfe doesnt produce much power. Lots of members heat wrap their headers. Heat wrapping helps more for heat control than a coating will. I personally am going to get a ceramic coat on my headers to help with the heat. Depends on the price though for the coating. It will look better that way. I might just leave them how they are. idk

i want to buy this header because of the fact that i hate the look of the heat shield and the stock header is just hidious, but this my first car thats older than a 96 so bare with me but, i thought that obd1 didnt have an emissions test that it was only a safety Inspection. If thats the case then passing emissions wont be a problem with 94-95 cellies right?

EDIT: Disregard my emissions question, i went to ncdot.org and read the section about emissions testing, read that 95 and earlier vehicles do not require an emissions test only safty so i will be buying this header when i pull my broke 5s and put another 5s in.
