You will get a twin entry turbo from anything other then the 1st gen 3sgte found in the st165. If you are on a budget pick up a 2nd gen. If not get a 4th gen. If you want WTA intercooler get the 3rd gen.

well the first gen and the 3rd gen came with a water to air top mount intercooler. The second gen did but only on the Carlos Sainz edition RC 3sgte. The core is smaller then the 3rd gen w2a, but still far more efficient then the 2nd gen A2A top mount. a2a meaning air to air,
I had a 3rd gen w2a top mount I retrofitted on my 2nd gen 3sgte and even on those hard runs I can touch the top of the intercooler and it was still cool. Its not like the factory 2nd gen a2a intercooler. That thing is like a damn BBQ grill. I was thinking about cooking some chicken on it once. Bad idea to boost my car with that top mount on, but o well. Now I have a FMIC fitted. -------------------- 98 Celica gt red- totaled deer

I would pick up a 3rd gen. But for 2000, I doubt you'll get everything you need for the swap. Now what is your budget for this swap? Meaning how much do you have to spend or willing to spend on this project?

Meaning how much do you have to spend or willing to spend on this project? yeah i know i wont stay under 2 k for the whole swap, i mean i would just like to pick up the engine with ecu, and wiring for under 2. as of now i have no money lol...i have 3 jobs coming up for winter though, well 2 for winter at a snow resort, and 1 coming up in january at a new indoor water park. i plan on saving up a atleast 2 grand by my graduation date in may so i can go ahead and buy the engine. then i plan on holding out on swapping so i can clean it up and replace some parts, such as the cam gears and other easy replacements. really i havent set out a budget, but im wanting to do a good swap for the cheapest amount. but i dont want it to be so cheap that i will have problems later. i will have the engine drop and wiring done professionally. i dont know anyone around where i live that could help me out...soo i have to go to Toyota most likely.... -------------------- Celica Or Die, check out http://www.redlinemotive.com!

If you pay me I'll come down to Indiana and do it for you. Forget paying a shop to do the swap. Get the Doc to do the wiring. You can get it done for around 500.
Now you will need a complete engine set. Forget getting the clip, too much work IMO. Just shop around and you'll find what you need. You will need a 2bar map sensor, ignitor, coil, resistor packs, uncut harness, ecu, fuel pump relay, and 3rd ecu plug. I got my motor set shipped for 1700. Thats a 2nd gen. I got my harness done by DG_Performance for around 500. So that alone is already above your budget. Then I got my clutch set-up from Doc tweak for 450 IIRC. You will need a hybrid clutch setup if you plan to use your s54 trans for the swap. I now use an e153 trans So I use a full 3sgte clutch setup. So now we are even more above your budget. You will also need a new Fuel Pump. The stocl one wont supply enough fuel. Looking at about 110 shipped. And obviously maintenance stuff gaskets, belts, fluids. Thats roughly around 500. Good luck good sir. -------------------- 98 Celica gt red- totaled deer

Just keep reading and don't be afraid to ask. This is what we are here for.
I am going to be honest with you, just think really really carefully about doing this. Because the enjoyment won't last long. You'll want more and after taking out your loan and saving for 2 seasons, it wont be enough. Maintenance is key to keeping your motor alive. A little negligence and say goodbye to your motor. You gotta pay to play to hang with the big boys. Sometimes its something little, but most of the time its something big and you're going to need money to replace the broken part. Trust me. I think I spend more time under the car then driving it, but hey I love it. -------------------- 98 Celica gt red- totaled deer
