No no no. No way I could afford that.

I was originally going to get a new 50D...but then with comparisons to the 5D, the 5D was still edging it out. Add in the full-frame and I was sold.

still a very nice choice. thumbsup.gif

Oh yeah absolutely. I will have to shoot a lot more often to justify this purchase.

Just the body and kit lens was $550 for mine, but that was one sale. I think they are normally $600 or $650 brand new. You can sometimes find good deals on used ones with some additional things (lenses, lens hood, grip ect) for like $500-$600. Or save yourself some money and get an XT which is $500 brand new w/ the same kit lens.

WOW, that's ridiculous...yeah, can't see myself paying that much for a camera unless it was my hobby.

My camera knew was around $650 for the body only. Right now Canon offers the XS which you can get for much cheaper. I'm selling my XTI for $400

^ you could always buy a little point n' shoot if you don't want to get too much into photography at first. That's originally what I was going to do, but I tried the XTI and loved it.

taken with new nifty fifty:

I probably will eventually, photography is interesting...I'm just not sure if I have "the eye" for it.

It does get to be a spendy hobby, the uv haze filter for my 100-400 was $93 by itself.
I have a little over 4k into my stuff right now and will probably spend another
3k on lenses this year.

I need a long lens, and maybe something really short. After that I have the range pretty filled.

haha suuure. not yet tho
800 is too much for me and i would hate a fixed lens at such a long length. i think the 70-200 twoeight is just fine for me. im planning on getting some more lower mm primes though, they are fun.
