I think that one of the good things about the s2000 is that I don't have to worry about options lol that car comes with leather standard and things along that nature .... with the 350z there are so many different models witch can get kind of annoying it makes me think do I want the base for a lighter car all together so I can beef it up or do I get the high end with the leather and auto seats navigation? ..... The 350z has what like 5 or 6 different models and if I get it used not only do i have to pay attention to all that stuff but also the miles on the car have to look to see if it was moded before, with the s2k all you really have to pay attention to are the basics when buying a car like miles, mantence ext. because there all pretty much the same exepet the light body change stated in 04..... I like them both but im starting to think I might be turning to the 350z more then again I have heard they have alot of bugs i mean they are only a 5 year old car the s2k has had going on 9 years to work out all the bugs.....

i think the s2k had two versions. ep1 and ep2? so you have to pay attention to that also. the earlier models had a 9k redline too.

The S2000 is closer in formula to what a true sports car is, while with the 350Z, I think muscle car... Unless drag racing is your thing, I’d much rather be the owner of a S2K

ap1 and ap2 i believe.
i'd say s2000, crazy redline, lighter, and s2000 has holds its value pretty well. 350z is nice but i heard it has crappy interior + i just think the s2000 is more stylish |

lol what are you guys talking about many magazines/shows have compared these cars' performance s2000 0-60 in 5.5 350z 0-60 in 5.4 mustang gt 0-60 in 5.1 and sorry but they are all beating your stock 3sgte fwd celicas Supra~4.8 Toyota owns all!!! The S2K did have two versions, you guys are right about that. Couldn't tell you what they are called, just that one had a 2.2 liter and the newer version had a 2.0, both putting out around 240 hp. QUOTE sometimes its not always as easily decided by looking at 0-60. . . That's very true. The Celica is not and never was a straight line car. Take that 3S and put it on an autocross track against that Mustang GT and see which wins. I'm not saying it'll beat the S2K or 350Z in the autocross, both of those cars are amazing and would outperform my GT any day. But I believe a GT4 will put a Mustang GT to bed in any race that involves handling, even though the Mustang could win in a drag race. Both cars were built for different purposes, and as such, really aren't even comparable. and sorry but they are all beating your stock 3sgte fwd celicas This made me laugh for about 5 mins. Any who I voted for the s2k simply that I think they are beautiful looking cars...never driven either car but I have always been a fan of the s2k. -------------------- |

Actually, I revise my earlier statement...get the Z if you want a "real" engine, I'm not a fan of the interior myself but the JDM-tyte Dorifto deal does appeal to me. The S2k looks a bit better to me, and it's sort of closer in theory to a Celica...less power, but it's light and handles well.

Either way, you're getting a good car and I'll be jealous

driven both and spent extensive hours straight inside of an S2000 (think 14 hrs non stop literally)
S2000 handles better and well you can't expect it to have low end tq...cause its not made for it. However is is very loud inside the car. there are versions AP1 (9k redline) and post 2004 AP2 (8k redline) I never really saw the advantage of 9k as I would mostly only use 8k worth of rpm range. very stable fun more in touch with the weekend track car feel and setup. 350z is quieter and more comfortable on a daily basis, but its more tame than an S2000. handling is good but I wasn't too impressed with it. Im also not a fan of the big rear bar in the hatch and nasty looking steering wheel. |

I was sent this pm, and this is how I responded, I figured I went through the trouble of finding this info, might as well post it.
QUOTE look i'm not trolling, i'm just stating the facts a real 6th gen gt4 runs high 13s, you must know this and it is going to be faster than a fwd swapped celica mustang gt's, 350z's run mid 13s stock. hmmmm... now talking about shannons car is a different story, i'm sure it would win, but its not stock Well, I don't know where you are getting your info from, but its a a little off. I know from EXPERIENCE that my car owns mustangs, 350z, and honda s2000's all day long. You say you are sure shannons car would win (which you are right, again from EXPERIENCE) but it doesn't count because it is not stock, ok neither is a 3s swapped celica? But since were compating these cars against a stock 3s swapped celica......my car beats Shannon's car and my car IS a stock swapped celica. Aside from intake, exhaust, and boost controller.....so yes STOCK GEN3. Just to clear is up 350z 220whp and curb weight 3188lbs http://www.350z-tech.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=26109 14.201 s2000 207whp and curb weight 2809lbs http://www.honda-tech.com/showthread.php?t=1297715 13.894 99+ Mustang gt 230whp and curb weight 3077lbs http://forums.stangnet.com/532473-stock-whp-99-gt.html 13.828 my swapped Celica 300whp and curb weight 2415lbs 11.674 I got the 1/4 mile numbers from punching in the numbers listed above. LOLOLOL, and no I am not saying my car will run an 11.6 (god that would be sweet) but based off the posted 1/4 mile times, my car owns by a mile. These numbers will vary GREATLY due to change in ACTUAL weight, traction, driver, and car specific WHP. It was the "best" comparison I could come up with keeping everything constant and having the only variables being power and weight. But, based on the numbers compared, they have quite a ways to catch me. http://www.jcalculator.com/?c=1_4_mile_calculator All curb weight numbers I got from here in attempt to keep things fair, and I used 2 door hatch if available. http://consumerguideauto.howstuffworks.com...ord-mustang.htm --------------------
