sorry but we cannot discuss illegal activity on the forums...
but just as a tip: if you have a gps, you can manually add the location of each speed camera and warn you if you are approaching it to let you know to slow down... i still have to get around to doing this on mine. -------------------- -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |

Yeah, I was just wondering if this thread was going to get closed. I'd be careful with what you say. I know what you are saying, you aren't going around street racing or anything, you just like to drive 5 over the limit like I do
That being said, I'd go with Azian's advice. I'd just remember where all of the cameras are and slow down if you happen to be speeding. I try not to speed anymore. I'm 19, been pulled over 8 times already with only 2 citations issued I'm a sweet talker. Plus I get pulled over for gay reasons. Cops here get bored. -_- -------------------- "Employ your time in improving yourself by other men's writings, so that you shall gain easily what others labored hard for." -Socrates. Short answer is no, you cannot. Whilst there are laser jamming devices that you can buy for your vehicle, speed cameras - unlike some police forces - do not use laser, instead using Ka (perhaps Ku if you're getting new european ones I guess) band radar, which iirc you can't really do anything about.
So yeah, don't speed near them Don't ban me, I'm telling him he CAN'T break the law. This post has been edited by MercuryFree: Dec 19, 2008 - 2:45 AM -------------------- |

No nothing illegal at all. I just want to not get caught speeding! its not illegal:) But the problem remains that the speed cameras are mobiles:(
Radar detector is not illegal right? I just want to be more intelligent than the government or police coz its a fact that these speed cameras are there just to allow governments to make money everybody knows it. I dont care the governement make money but they cant hide behind "road safety" as an issue. |

I dont care the governement make money but they cant hide behind "road safety" as an issue. That would depend on your country's laws. In New Zealand where I live, for example, radar detectors are 100% legal. The mobile ones are actually less 'dangerous' than mounted stationary ones, as for example the stationary ones we have here use sensors in the road, not radar, to detect your speed. Because they're sloppily installed though you can see where the sensors are, but if you're not paying attention you're gonna get busted no matter how much you spend on a radar, because there's nothing to set it off. Mobile ones can be detected from far away if you spend big bucks on a high end radar detector, but even then they can still be hidden in very nasty places where a radar detector will be of no use. Only way to guarantee safety is to not speed. Also this VF thing you mention ain't gonna work if there's no flash, from what I can tell, and I don't think I've ever seen a speed camera van use flash during daytime... -------------------- |

The laws on radar detectors vary based on where you live, but where I live they are perfectly legal. Problem is, by the time you hear that thing chirp, you've already been clocked. They don't always tell you in time. The cops around here don't clock every single person, so by the time you hear it, odds are he just clocked you.
The cameras are different than the cops sitting there in their cars though. They clock everyone. I'd say just keep it slow for a while and learn where the cameras are and take Azian's advice. Don't spend your money on a possibly illegal radar detector and get a ticket for that too. EDIT: Too late. MercuryFree said exactly what I wanted to, and said it better. D-man, stop being a douche. You aren't the forum police. Get off your high horse. Thank you.
Top Gear did a segment on speeding cameras. They came up with this: In order to speed past a camera and not get caught, you need to be in excess of 285 kph (177mph for us USA people). So I suppose the logical answer to your question is don't speed. Driving isn't a race. Give yourself plenty of time to get from point A to point B. -------------------- 1991 MR2 - T-tops - Crimson Red - Gen3 3SGTE - Lots of money

yes mythbusters did the same thing and even with a lambo merc they couldnt get away from the flash so there is no point.
cause to actually dodge it you would have to be at very dangerous speeds and you could cause a wreck or even kill someone so dont speed, and you wont have to worry about it. -------------------- |

D-man, stop being a douche. You aren't the forum police. Get off your high horse. Thank you. You've gotta admit that that statement was rather redundant. But if you insist... High horse ... So I suppose the logical answer to your question is don't speed. Driving isn't a race. Give yourself plenty of time to get from point A to point B. Also, your Logical solution is deff. a successful one. Though there are ways of doing what he want's to do... But those are even more illegal. -------------------- QUOTE (presure2 @ Nov 6, 2010 - 6:16 AM) Via FB: fcuking awsome!!! D-man FTW! Damn D-Man - most impressive.
