I love the Lotus Elise/Exige line. They are one of my favorite cars, I will own one some day when I have a place to keep it.

Even the regular non-supercharged Lotus tuned Celica GT-S motor is incredibly fast in such a go-cart of a car. And the rear engine/rear wheel drive makes it almost the same to work on as a Celica.

This is the one I fell in love with an want to buy, a 2005 Lotus Elise HRM Edition.

I like them, but they are almost impossible to get in/out of.

I like them, but as someone who doesn't have sh!t for track experience, I'd invest my ~75k somewhere else.

Throw a third on top and you've got yourself an R8. biggrin.gif

Great for a weekend/track car.

My mate had one as his daily, (non s/c) just didn't work out. After a drive over an hour you feel like you've been kicked in the spine! Plus build quality is not great.

they're basically built in a shed over here laugh.gif

I'm ok with it smile.gif

As for driving long distances in those hard seats, there is a little pump thing you squeeze and it puts air into the chambers in the seat for cushioning. The ride is a little harsh but what do you expect from a car that's 2" off the ground

And I love it biggrin.gif

Hey, regardless of comfort level, I'd take one if I had the money. I've heard great things about their handling capabilities. Size isn't a factor to me. I already drive the smallest car around here where I live. I'm not really a big guy, so I'd fit just fine. Think of all the fun you could have on the track with one of those... biggrin.gif

You know, if you ever want another Celica sitting in the driveway... You could have that and your new 350Z! I'll trade your fiance straight up right now hahahah.

Dang, now that I think about it, you've got some really nice cars... I'm moving down to Florida.

I am barely 5'2, and I still have trouble getting out of it. Then again, my legs aren't even long enough to touch the ground. The ride sucks, and it's so light that I feel like we are going to spin out and die around every corner. Or maybe I am just a wuss. It's his daily, and he is looking to sell it for $40k. Anyone interested?

Only picture I have of it. Lol.. sorry, not much.

$40k haha. Is it brand new? Year? Mileage? Anything special about it?

05, I think only around 12k miles, full touch screen navigation/cd player, fiberglass work on the inside.

Is 40k too much?

Haha... I can't really afford it right now, but if I had a place to put it I'd make myself afford it. I already have nowhere to put my two cars plus Dustin has two cars. But for $20k with low mileage like that... I'm thinking... Dustin will talk me out of it though... frown.gif

Jen, I would say $40k is too much. They go for about that brand new. The red one I put the pic of above is an 05 with about 38k miles (last time I saw it, probably in the 40k's now) and belongs to the Classic Car Club in Manhattan. They basically let rich people borrow fancy cars for a few days. I know two of the guys that work there, they may trade it in for an Exige sometime and I'm sure they'd sell that one to me for somewhere around trade in value from the Lotus dealer. It's already been through 2 clutches. The first two clutches were installed at the Lotus dealer and cost them somewhere around $2k. I helped them install the third and it pretty much cost them parts only. It's also been in a couple minor accidents, but I tend to fall in love with things I put a lot of work into so I'm ok with it and I actually kinda fell in love with that one.
