Hey everyone,

last week I noticed that My exhaust manifold has a crack in it. and for about a year if not two, my car has had this whistling sound. sounds like a Semi truck Turbo spooling. and at first it was so light that my mechanic couldn't even hear it. but now its very noticeable. so I was wondering do you think the manifold would be causing that? also my car smokes during the first mile or so after start up. warm or cold. I'm pretty sure its white, maybe a little blue, someone told me that it looked and smelled like an exhaust leak. could this also be contributed to the manifold being cracked? and lastly, since I've been driving on this manifold for a while, with what looks like no other damage to the car, what ill effects can come from this?

Thanks for taking the time to read this,

Soul

the 7afe cast manifolds are known to crack right on cylinder 2 or 3 or right between them, its very very common.

Are you experiencing a loss of power?

If you aren't having a loss of power it is probably the stem seals

I just lost an emblem off the front, the driver seat is messed up, need a new shifter boot (why are they so expancive! lol) and I think some window/ lock switches are going. maybe motors as well... eh oh well I'm not giving this baby up! Certainly sounds like a serious project if you do it up. You should get a GT-Four. Whats the US like for parts for the celica?

lol I want a GT-Four, but they don't "exist" in the US they were never brought over. but you can Import them if you do it right. besides that parts for the ST and GT are pretty east to get, I doubt that GT-Four parts are. most likely need to import them.

Soul...

P.S. if anyone else has Input on the main question please don't hesitate to put your two cents in
