I'm not much of a tire expert so i need some opinions. What are some good tires to go on 17x8 sized rims. I'm looking for good cost with the best performance all year round for the price. Thanks in advance for any sort of help.

I currently have those tires. I would classify them as amazing, but for the price they are a decent tire. The best tire I've used are the Toyo's T1-R. You'll pay a pretty penny for them, but they are really good. As for the life on the Falken's, I'm not sure. I've just finished my first season with them. I expect to get atleast one, maybe two more seasons with them.

I would not advise running the RT615s year round tho. As for the life of them, a buddy of mine is running them on his Galant VR4, and he only got one summer out of them. But that might be due to his style of driving, and the fact that its a 11.20 car lol. I'm a big fan of Falkens myself. Most of their tires are very reasonably priced. I'm running their Zeix ze912s on my civic. GREAT for long life, but just a little bit to hard of a compound for my style of driving.

Thanks a lot for your guy's advices. What do you think of Toyo T1R's?
P.S. Whats a good brand for lug nuts that uses a special key? This post has been edited by bizzerk: Jan 19, 2009 - 2:07 AM -------------------- |

Get the Toyo T1-R's. Just don't expect them to be cheap and don't expect them to last a long time. I got 2 summers out of mine, and I was down to the steel band. Probably should have changed them a month before I did.

I'm just looking for a good and reliable tire that will last me a while. damn.. only two summers? D: -------------------- |

believe it or not, ebay has quite a variety of lugnuts on there. they range from all different styles, colors, and sizes....and prices ofcourse. A buddy of mine got a set of "titanium" looking ones for his S13 off ebay, they were close to $100, but they are an open ended lug with a key to go along with them.

215x45x17 Hankook Ventus V4ES !!!! IMO. They cost $104 a piece. I had my car up to 100mph+ and they handle great! They do REALLY well in the rain as well. Plus they have a 50k warranty. Here is the site: Hankook V4ES

i would stay away from 215 series tires. too rough of a ride imo 225 45 is about right (especially since we have a big ass wheel gap)
