Hi guys..

Looking in the web for the ST205 3SGTE Gen 3 Power FC Plug n' Play i found this product on Berk Technology, for the MR2 3SGTE Gen 3.. http://www.berktechnology.com/shop/product...35&P_ID=480

so.. there says: "Re-wiring required for use on the 94-up Celica ST205 Alltrac".. my question is WHY???.. it's supposed they are same OEM Ecu, engine, etc, right???..

In case it's necessary a re-wiring, what should be changed and how???...

Thanks in advance.. Best regards..

Miguel..

Im running an MR2 Power FC Pro ecu in my 205, no mods needed, straight plug in.

In some cases the ecu/wireing loom is a little bit different in some cars depending on destination. EG. to run a jdm ecu in an adm car you need to swap a couple of pins over, because their output point on the ecu is in a different spot. Not hard if you have the correct wireing diagrams.

As for the gen3 mr2/st205 there was no australian delivered turbo sw20 mr2's, but obviously there was 205's and like i said im using the mr2 pfc pro in mine with no mods. I say go for it.

I would say the "re-wiring" would have to do with the chargecooler (if you still have one)
If you fit a Gen3 MR2 Power FC in to your ST205 it won't control your chargecooler. So you would have to fit a front mount intercooler or "bridge" the chargecooler to run constantly. The Power FC will fit without rewiring.

Ok jackett.. thanks for the answer.. but, one more question.. hehe..

If I fit a FMIC nothing more is necessary to do, right???.. only plug it and ok???..

People, do you know some place where I can find the Power FC Pro???.. or then where I can find this Power FC MR2 3SGTE Gen 3 with the Hand commander in a good price???.. I only can buy in a shop, store, ebay or something like these sites... new of preference!!..

hey man, sorry i dont visit this site often.

i got my power fc direct from apexi just before they stopped making them. Yes its the one with launch control and hard and soft limiters (cuts ignition and fuel insted of just fuel like the normal power fc's), they would be hard to find yeah. The part number is 414-T001.

the pfc pro wont run the intercooler pump so there is no need to bridge any sensors or try to fool the ecu that the pump is still there or whatever, so fmic is the only way to go, better anyway, neater, lighter, make more power, little to no loss in drivability or responce...regardless of what anyone says.

Looking on ebay might be your best bet, or yahoo japan.

here is an example how the ecu pinouts can differ, sure its for gen 2, but it shows how it changes with years etc.

If you do not have a FMIC and you have a MR-2 genIII Power FC pro or otherwise fitted there is a big need to bridge the chargecooler pump to run constant.

Yep, if you have a FMIC fitted then you can plug in your MR-2 3SGTE genIII Power FC and away you go. You should register on www.gt4oc.net Lots of info primarily on the ST205.

I'd say pick the EMS your local tuner tunes. I have a power fc on my ST205 and I think it's great. If I had the money I would have gotten a Motec but at the same time for my power goals it would have been overkill. And lastly if you do buy a Power FC you do not need the boost control kit from Apexi to control the boost. The Power FC can control it via the vsv.

Here the tuners use a FUELTECH.. it's a brazilian EMS, it's medium quality but not complete like another EMS, it's a little difficult to install in the ignition too, but is simply to operate.. but doesn't have a idle controller, Air Conditioner Correction, etc, etc.... I like the MOTEC, the best cars use it, but the price is the problem....

I like the Power FC because it's apparently easy to operate, the installation is quick, use all of the originals sensors and isn't necessary a re-wiring... I have a SBC Blitz i-color as a Boost Controller...

so.. I'm waiting for a Argentina Motec answer... and depending of the price I will decide if I buy the power fc or not...

It's easy to operate and tuning with the Power FC???..

I got mine tuned by a local mapper but anytime I've needed to slightly correct the map I just gave him a call and he told me what to do via the hand commander. If you bought the datalogit software and had the know how you could do it yourself.

I don't know if you have seen this link before but it is a great resource if you have a Power FC : http://paulr33.skylinesaustralia.com/docs/...powerfc-faq.htm

Yes I see this site.. it's very complete... I think the datalogit it's very important to adquire... so, with the power fc, the commander and the datalogit is the pack to buy.. hehe..

Why do you need to correct the map anytime???.. do you put upgrades or why??..

Thanks for your attention and patience man..

i also bought the datalogit software, make tuning much better and easier.

you need to retune when major modifications are done, for example when i made and installed a custom plenum a retune was needed, when i installed a cold air intake it was not.

you cant buy the datalogit software as a package, they are made by two completly different companies.

as has been said buy the ecu your tuner is most familiar with.

im selling my Apexi + commander right now on ebay. if someone wants it, 840$ + shipping. i wouldnt want to sell through ebay as they take 7% commission.
its a gen3 sw20 PFC. it was previously converted by brash boy for ST185 with their own maps and settings, i installed SW20 maps back as I have sw20 gen3 mr2. works great!
