Those are some really nice shot stetsonaw, mrgrape, and merceryfree the chopper is badass, what is it?
I used to somwhat of a military aircraft ID buff in the early 90s, I guess I am a little behind.

I got my 16-35 today hopefully I can get some shots with it soon. I have never owned anything
wide, I am sure on a full frame it would be even more impressive. I did manage a few of the celi
I can just about stand on it and get the whole car in frame.lol

Erik takes very nice photos.

Death
First off I am no expert so what I see may not be what someone else will.
Sometimes it seems the more I learn the more frustated I get with my own stuff.

I like them both, the first would be cool with a long shutter speed to kind of add a misty effect to the waterfall,
and maybe a steeper angle to make it look more dramatic. Try setting the camera on something right on the ground and using the timer.( maybe a shirt or towel).
Tripods are great but they have limitations for doing stuff like that. I also am not sure how close to the waterline you were, so that might not be possable.

In the second the white pole on the right is sort of a big border, if it was cropped out I think it would be better.
Even though Ping would be less centered I still think it would look better. Both are cool scenery.

Photography is so much about an individuals taste, especially landscapes.
Shoot what looks good to you, and don't worry about your camera,
some of the best pics I have taken were on my old sony dsc-s75 3.2mp.
I still have it and have no intention of selling it.

I am happy the name stuck, it seemed better than knock, or her sn with all the backwards letters
and numbers, (reminds me of one of the ransom notes tv killers leave behind).lol

experimenting with shutter drag... all are straight from the camera with my lovely wife as my model.
1. 3rd attempt at open shutter rotating
18mm, f/3.5, ISO 400, 1/30 shutter, shoe mounted 430exII bounced off ceiling

2. attempt at open shutter zoom
started at 20mm, f/9, ISO 400, 1/15 shutter, shoe mounted same as above

3. another attempt at open shutter zoom
started at 18mm, f/16, ISO 400, 1 second shutter, shoe mounted same as above

C&C Welcomed!

The first one has a cool effect, 2nd is of course under exposed. Third is cool but not apparent enough.

I started to experiment with the open shutter zoom but honestly I think I sorta forgot about it and haven't done it in awhile. It's neat, but a lot of ppl do it with PS so it sorta ruins the effect.
