we are working on Vadar, getting the suspension all fixed up & pulling the motor/tranny tommorrow

No build threads. Too lazy to keep up with them on a slowly progressing project. I've got very minimal pictures since I was more focused on trying to get the car running than I was on taking pictures. I've got a couple from back when I got the car in August last year, from March of this year, and like one or two from this past week. I'll try to get a couple more this week.

Current mods thus far:
-3" Apex'i filter
-3" Y-pipe
-3" downpipe
-USDM 2JZ cams
-Megan N1 Turbo muffler (needs to be welded on)
-3" Vibrant Performance Ultra Quiet resonator (needs to be welded on)
-24x12x3" Front mount intercooler
-2.5" intercooler pipes
-MK4 TT Denso fuel pump
-JDM 2JZ 440cc fuel injectors
-Russel Stainless Steel Brake lines
-Stainless Steel Hydrofan, clutch, oil pressure, and power steering lines
-Blitz Dual Drive blow off valve (needs to be welded on)
-52MM AEM UEGO wideband (Need to get a replacement)
-52MM ProSport Premium Fuel Pressure gauge (hasn't been mounted)
-60MM ProSport Premium Boost, Oil Pressure, Exhaust Gas Temp, and Water Temp gauges (haven't been mounted)
-Lotek 52MM triple gauge pod (needs to be installed)
-Apex'i Turbo Timer (halfway wired in)
-Apex'i AFC Neo
-Blitz SBC i-Color Spec-R boost controller
-17x8" (f) and 17x9.5" ® MK4 Twin Turbo wheels
-235/45-17 and 275-40-17 Kumho Ecsta ASX (bald)

i understand on the pics. since there are both joe & myself one person can stop & take pics so its a lot easier.

aren't those MKIV 2jz Supra injectors 550's?
the 1st & 2nd gen 3sgte's came with 440's & the 3rd gen 3sgte's & i thought all 2jz MKIV Supra's came with the 550s.

we got Vadar's engine & tranny out last weekend.
good thing we are doing all this work ... motor was leaking oil all over the place. gotta rebuild the dizzy & the camshaft seals are shot.
hopefully the oil pump isn't leaking too ... been cleaning up all the old oil/gunk just to see where it's fresh & where it isn't.

suspension is almost done .. only the rear trailing arm bushings are left to replace.

i can post a couple pics here, but i'm not going to redo the whole thread as it's too many pages.

Only the USDM 2JZs got the 550s, the bigger cams, the beefier turbos, and couple of other odds and ends that allows it to have the 320hp or so out the door. All JDM models got the 440s, smaller cams, and ceramic turbos (or steel. can't remember which) cuz of that gentleman's agreement who-ha that limit them at 280.

I'm not sure if it's the same one you're needing though. But I'm sure it's cheaper than Toyota. I spoke with the seller and they said that their parts are Aisin parts (as you can see in the picture) which is pretty much OEM parts.

They've got a gasket set as well if you guys aren't able to get the cam seals by themselves from Toyota.

gotcha on the JDM 2JZ's ... i forgot all about the less than 300bhp gentlemen's rule.

thanks for the links on the oil pump & gasket.
if we need a new oil pump i may just go ahead & get one from a (i think) '98+ Camry 5sfe... it's actually a higher flow pump than a 3sgte one.

i was able to get the camshaft seals from toyota .. only $5 bux a piece or so for those.
i do need to order some more gaskets though - may go ahead & do the rear main seal while the motor is out since i know it's never been done before.

i'm really not sure if we are going to be able to make TX2K9 this year ... the only way we could come down would maybe be in the MR2 & that's only going to be if a GT-Four friend from Netherlands comes down for the event & even then i just don't know if we can afford to do it or not with spending so much $$$$$$$$$$$$ on parts to get Vadar going again.

Vadar's motor is still in the living room & i'd say we're at least a good month to 2 months to getting him going again.

We're trying to delete/remove the ABS & Toyota discontinued 3 of the Non ABS brake hard lines & I am having one helluva time trying to locate some 5th gen ST18x Non ABS lines either from someone parting them out or from a junkyard up here
Anyone know of any 5th gen Celicas W/O ABS in junkyards near them? I'm getting desperate!

There is a pic-a-part out here in Houston, they had about 8 5th gens last time I went. Im going out there next week Ill take a look for ya!!

Supra TX2K9 is the weekend of the 19th. I think I'm about ready to sell both cars at this rate now. :-\

Thanks Ironic. I called around & supposedly one place I called said they had 10-12 5th gens so we're going there this weekend. The downside is they are the most expensive junkyard known to man but at this point I just don't even care as long as they have the lines I need.

we're planning on sometime in May stephen.
i've got to find the maps so i can post up what routes we would like to take from Austin up to Marble Falls - it won't be for the faint of heart or faint of back to back twisties

i know at least one other ST185 is coming along who lives in Austin. there is a ST165 in Austin i'm hoping will be able to come & i might be able to get some other ST185's i know in OK & MO to come out also.

i think it's just a little early to be making exact dates given that May is quite a few months out.
so we're not disorganized - i'm going to be working hard to make sure this is not disorganized nor chaotic like the last supra meet a few of us went to.

I think Jen said she might be coming down for the Supra meet, but I'm not sure if she meant our actual 6GC meet. *shrug*

Either way, I can't wait!
