Pulled my front seat out the other day to install some wiring under the carpet, and found a 1 yen coin! A good reminder that my car is a Jap Import.

Also... there was this plastic box with a metal bottom that slides into a bracket, it also has a velcro strap to hold it down. Any ideas?

I don't think I have a factory alarm, and it's definitely OEM wiring. I thought it could be an amp but I only have the 4 speaker system, and everything appears to be run directly from the headunit.

Factory Fitted Alarm (Maby) but is definatly the central locking unit to work with the Factory Key.

I found this in my car as well took it out and the remote on the key stopeed working. I use a aftermarket alarm now but I have left this in plave so I can get into my car if the new alarm fails. LOL

When are we gonna see some pic's of you car???

korban, by now you've got it figuredout. I'm new to computers and imports,so you've had multiple ideas tossed at you.I would have thought it was engine management or anti-theft.Apparently no engine management since one person has removed theirs.Wiring scares the shiznit out of me.Best of luck.

Heh, nope, haven't figured it out yet. Wiring diagrams I've found seem to point to it being some sort of amp/crossover. It's definitely not engine management, as I've removed that (under the dash in the centre) and opened it up to see what's what (before wiring in an aftermarket system).

Could be central locking control, might just have to open it and see.

Well, i'm still just as confused.

The lack of caps suggests it's not an amp, the coils could be some kind of crossover? The space on the board says ANT, so maybe could be optional receiver for remote control locking?

Most likely at this stage it's... I have no idea. Next job to trace wires.

When I unplugged it my central locking still worked, and so did all my speakers. Anyone know if we have woofers hidden somewhere?

Not sure if it's factory.....just recently found mine. lol

TRC: http://www.trc12volt.com/main-security.html

After some cleaning in my car I happen to have stumble across a module and a remote. Alarm system? Apparently the wire had been cut and the system removed for some unknown reasons. Here's a better look at the module and the remote.

There are many pins, I do remember when I was wiring my fogs that there was a loose harness behind my dash, but the other pins don't make any sense. Red pin indicates "LED", Blue is "VAl.SW.", White #1 says nothing, White #2 is "DOOR.L.", and White #3 is "SHOCK".

There's also a toggle switch number 1 & 2 "ON" and 3 & 4 "DIP"

Looks repairable, will try to see if I can hook it up.

The DIP (Dual Inline Package) Switch is just 4 individual switches, the 'On' tells you which side they make a connection on.

It will either change settings, or change frequency that the remote works on (4 switches = 16 combinations) there could be a matching switch inside the remote.
