so it turns out, the clutch slave, and clutch master are both good.
looks like the clutch finally took a dump. i cant really complain, its lasted just about 50k, and ive been over the tq rating of it basicly since the day i turboed. so, i started tearing it down a little tonight, and will get the tranny ready to come out tommorow afternoon after jenn gets home from work. i ended up going with a 3sgte / s54 hybrid clutch kit from drtweak, and a 3sgte fidanza lightweight flywheel. the details of the hybrid clutch/flywheel combo can be found here: http://www.6gc.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=65233 the clutch is a 6 puck sprung hub, just like the ACT i was gonna order, but was just about 100$ cheaper going with tweak. thanks man! ill post pics once it gets here and of any carnage i find once i get the tranny off. -------------------- Former Team 5SFTE pro member ;)

you're going to love the six puck... i am running the competition from dr tweak on my 3s with the lightweight flywheel... its amazing.. no slip..... EVER.... i don't know the clutch you had in there.. but get ready for a lot of grab... no babying this bad boy... but i daily drove it too with no problem... i don't think i will ever go to a different clutch after using the one from dr tweak...

I think you'll like the clutch kit - my 3sgte flywheel revs up real quick imagine how yours will. -------------------- 94 Celica GT

got the tranny off last night.
turns out, its not the TOB, or the fork. ill let the pics speak for themselfs. much to my delight, the pressure plate, flywheel, and friction surface of the disk look amazingly good, especially considering they have ~50k on them, 45k of which was over the tq rating of this clutch. proper installation, and break in owns me. and a pic of the pressure plate: new clutch arrives friday, should be all installed and buttoned up by the weekend. -------------------- Former Team 5SFTE pro member ;)

so the clutch came in yesterday, major props to tweak for being on the ball with things and being sure it would get here on time.
the clutch itself looks great, i will install it a little later on today. a couple of quick pics, full detailed pics can be found in my clutch thread. pressure plate side of the disk : flywheel side: pressure plate: -------------------- Former Team 5SFTE pro member ;)

got the tranny all installed last night, got a bunch of little things i am cleaning up while i did the cluch swap.
since alot of the work i ever did on jenns car was the first time doing things, there was a lot of mess stuff in the engine bay, so im cleaning a bunch of that stuff up, getting ready for the new IC and piping i have coming in. i forgot to bring the camara out to the garage, so no bench pressing s54 pics. should be all buttoned up later, hopfully the snow holds out long enough for me to get a test drive in. -------------------- Former Team 5SFTE pro member ;)

(assuming you got webcams) the IC is 25X12X3, 2.5" piping. like can be seen in the pics on the last page, the cams are webcams 294 grind. got everything all buttoned up, goddamn rain owns me tho, just spin the tires thru 4 gears...lol clutch feels great, a bit of break in time to get used to it and we'll be good, definetly feels like it revs faster with the lightweight flywheel more updates over the next couple days, we need some good weather, and a bit of time for tuning. -------------------- Former Team 5SFTE pro member ;)
