I'm not to this point quite yet, but I'll be there pretty soon. I got a hiprospeed 3" core and a universal 3" intercooler pipe kit. What I am wondering is for those of you who have set up an fmic for a 3rd gen 3s, is a universal pipe kit enough for this set up? I've been looking at other people's set up's and it looks to me like Ima need more pipe. I was wondering if any of you could tell me exactly what bends Ima need to run from the intake manifold and from the turbo? I'm gonna remove the window washer reservior so I don't have to run the pipe under the frame rail and I would like to weld the pipes, but at this point it looks like ima use cupplers until I can find someone to weld. One last thing, does it really make much of a difference welding the pipe as aposed to using cupplers???

a good fabricator should be able to make a god FMIC kit with a generic pipe kit.

For what reason? I'm gonna do a fmic settup no matter what you guys say, so if somone could tell me what bends I need, that would be more of a help then telling me to use a tmic, which is less functional then a fmic! I will give you my fully welded mandrel bent stainless 2.5" piping routed around my gen3, (take a look in my profile) for your topmount system <-serious offer. Hell i will add apexi intake or precison turbo front mount or some gauges or cash just sell me your your topmount please! I will also consider my kidney if you are in the organ market (Shhh... noone tell him how st205 tmic is much better than fmic ) -------------------- QUOTE(tufy @ Jul 19, 2006 - 7:40 AM) i dont drive fast, i just fly low |

So, why is an st205 tmic better then a fmic??? Hahaha, I thought you KNEW that a FMIC was better than the ST205 TMW2AIC. As many people are starting to make you aware, a FMIC is no way better than a W2A intercooler setup. The stock setup is perfect for sub 300WHP, and only minor modifications are needed above 300WHP to keep it equally efficient. For sub 300WHP, add some heat reflective tape to the bottom of the IC to prevent heat soaking....and call it a day. For above 300WHP by adding an aftermarket high flow pump and Larger HE....you now have a setup good for 500+WHP Do a little research on W2A Intercoolers, you may shock yourself and feel quite embarrassed about your previous statements. If you aren't all hooked up on the way a FMIC looks, keep the ST205 setup for adding a FMIC will yield ZERO gains. Oh BTW, congrats on the GEN3....very wise choice --------------------

I wish I knew this before, I already cut my vis bumper to fit my fmic, so ima go with the fmic anyway's. I like the look of the fmic better anyway's. |
