Your only popular because you developed early and starting giving handjobs when you were 12. but now you cant stand to look at yourself in the mirror because all you see is a whore. so you pick on me to avoid the innevitable realization that once your body is used up by age 21, your gonna be a worn out, chalky skin burlap sack that even your uncle wont want! wink.gif

hurry up and get off work!!

so... yea.. still leakin oil from my spark plug area. :-\ thought it might have been because of too much crankcase pressure. so i bought a breather and installed it onto the pcv valve, and just ran my bov to the open nipple on the intake manifold. but thats obviously not the issue anymore.

you need to route the pcv on your valve cover to your intake for the turbo. It needs to see only vacuum, not boost. Unfortunately, it'll be a little difficult to hook it up if you just have a filter clamped straight onto the turbo.

anyway, if you don't, you'll just pressurize the crankcase and blow out a ton of gaskets and seals. In the meantime, putting a little breather on the PCV and capping off the intake manifold one (if you put your BOV line there, that's fine) will be better than what you had.

ok.. so i would love some adviced. and quickly if possible. now all of a sudden... my car is acting funny. its as if the car wants to resist power. the throttle feels heavier to push.. meaning that when i push the throttle, it feels as if it has no power and takes a few seconds to do anything. i am not hitting my 8lbs. im only hitting 3-4 psi. i dont know what the issue is exactly. friends are sayin its a boost leak. i tightened down some couplers and that didnt make a difference. car is supposed to be at a car meet today. and then when i get home, im gonna spray the pipes and couplers with soapy water and see if i can find and air leaks.

ANY thoughts???

Yea, it sounds like a boost leak somewhere. Check everything, your whole route of piping to see if there's any rips, leaks, anything in the couplers that would cause air to come out. Don't just check the most prone spots, check everything and you should find it.

ok ill check into it. i checked the front of the intercooler and those couplers. you could see and rub off some oil from underneath the couplers. so my thought is obvious that there must be some kind of gap on the coupler if the blow by is getting the outside of my intercooler

ok so im thinking that my boost leak may be from my intake manifold. im guessing that i possibly blew out my intake gaskets.

sound about right to anybody?

i just want some feedback before i pull my intake manifold off. lol frown.gif

i have a boost leak. i did a compression test. 225 in each cylinder which is amazingly kinda high. IC piping seems to be ok. i drove with the pcv valve still connected to the intake manifold for a while... so i figure the pressure may have caused it to blow... either the throttle body gasket or the actual intake manifold chamber gasket.

invest in one of these before you go any further with taking the intake manifold off:

http://www.siliconeintakes.com/product_inf...659d31bef05d68e

(they come in different sizes and colors, I was just using that as an example.) just take the coupler off your turbo, hook this up to the IC piping, and using a bicycle pump, or air compressor if you have one, pump in and listen for leaks. if it's a slow leak, spray soapy water around the connections. Also don't just check the ones easy to look at, check ALL of them.

leaving your PCV hooked up will blow gaskets and seals around the crankcase, such as oil pan, cam and crank seals, valve cover gasket, etc... Not the intake manifold or throttle body gaskets...

Edit: you can also build one of those testers if you're cheap. Get some PVC pipe at home depot or whatever that has a capped end, drill a hole (figure out what the right size should be...) then go to a tire shop and ask for a single rubber valve stem. if they're cool they'll give it to you for free, they might charge like a dollar. then ask if they could pull it through the hole for you. it'll be a pain to get it through without a special valve puller that they will have. voila! for like $5-6 you got the same thing.

thanks nathan..but its kinda funny... i actually made one last night.. using a pcv plug and a coupler and a 1//8 NPT fitting. going tomorrow to my friends and hookin an air compressor up to it. " you can also build one of those testers if you're cheap" <--- lol. im not cheap. just... only takes $9.68 and i have my very own custom made one wink.gif lol

Catch Can installed smile.gif

ran the hose from my pcv valve to one side of the can, and ran the other hose to the intake side of the turbo.

not sure if im gonna keep it in the same location... its by the fuse panel on the driver side of the engine bay only because i didnt have time to drill holes or see anywhere else to mount it.

looks kinda dumb with the hoses running across the engine bay to it. ill post pics up tomorrow. Possibly today depending on how work is

Thank You!

its been a headache and ive been close to just saying $#&k it. but im gonna stick with it and get her running right. ive got a new polished valve cover on the way. hopefully that will fix the leak from the spark plug tubes. just need my new exhaust and im gonna take it to get it re-tuned. Electronic boost controller was ordered and on the way now too. so when i take it. i will get two tunes. one for the daily about 6lbs probably. and another set to 10lbs.

just a couple daylight pics of a few changes and upgrades. Intake on the turbo came off my buddys mr2. catch can installed, but i dontlike the location. gonn re-locate it. painted my radiator hoses black as well as my fuse cover. and removed cruise control so i would have room for the intake and more room to mount the boost solenoid for my EBC.
