Looking for a 1994 Toyota Celica ST Engine M/T. Needs to have low miles on it and in good condition. My car has a 1.8 liter 7A-FE engine, and is starting to have too many miles on it.
I am looking to spend about $1,500, for a stock engine with low miles. Price can be flexible obviously if engine is brand new or if it has aftermarket parts on it (must run and have low miles). Please contact me on this website or email at -Mgnt232@hotmail.com- with any questions or offers. thanks- I live in the Albany, NY area. -------------------- |

Any of the S motors (3SGTE, 3SGE, 5SFE) would be hard to swap into your car. They have different motor mounts. Not impossible, just more difficult than it needs to be. You would be better to swap a 4AGE into your car, since it uses the same motor mounts. You can pick those up pretty cheap. I have seen a 4AGE silvertop on tigerjapanese.com for $400. But if you decide to not deal with the hassle involved with that, I have a 7AFE. I doubt if it's what you are looking for, since it needs a couple of things (distributor, alternator, AC compressor- all of which you have on your 7A already.) It's got 130,000 miles on it, but ran perfectly when I pulled it from the car. The only thing is, you have to come pick it up. I'm not willing to ship it. But if you come pick it up, you can have it for free. I need the garage space back.

well i had the same problem with my 7a plus the valves were really bad. the 4age is a dual cam motor out of the corrollas in japan. the silvertop and blacktop were the last two kind they came out with. they swap right into your car without to much hassle or custom fab work. so i got the whole 4a swap from japanstarmotors.com for like 900 bucks no shipping. the swap isnt that bad you just need to pull the old one, drop the new one in then do the wiring for it. im not gonna lie it sucked dick so i just let Dr. Tweak do it cause he's been doing it since Jesus was around so he knows a thing or too haha. but yeah man if youve never had a turbo car then the upgrade from 7a to 4a will be great i mean i was in the same boat as you not knowing much about working on motors but once you get into its really fun. if you want any more help just pm or search the forums.

The 4AGE really is the way to go, but I hear you when you say you are on a budget. That isn't a really expensive motor as far as swaps go, but it's going to be a bit more than simply replacing your 7AFE with another 7A. The silvertop is just a variation of the 4AGE, and it refers to the valve cover they put on the motor. The silvertop literally has a silver top. The blacktop literally has a black top.
http://www.tigerjapanese.com/index.php?pag...1&Itemid=26 http://www.tigerjapanese.com/index.php?pag...t&Itemid=26 The first link is for a silvertop, the second is for a blacktop. I'm probably mistaken because I am not very familiar with the 4A motors, but I believe the blacktop is more powerful than the silvertop??? Somebody please feel free to correct me. -------------------- "Employ your time in improving yourself by other men's writings, so that you shall gain easily what others labored hard for." -Socrates. the extras are hit or miss... some come with oil and water pumps... some don't... i would recommend buying new ones anyways just to be safe... not sure if any of the parts swap over... it comes with a harness and an ecu but they are not from a celica so you would have to rewire it to get it to work right.... dr tweak is a member here who is a pro at the wiring... has done more than i can imagine... Phoenixtuning is his site... i could deliver my 7a in about a month... it would fall within your budget including delivery

its a wiring harness conversion... dr tweak does it through the mail... you send him the harness... he does it... he sends it back.. it might be repinning... it might be lengthening the wires... i am not too sure what is involved with a 4a swap... you would have to talk to him
