Does anyone have a good place to order an intake for 96 GT? I bought one off ebay from celica performance and it does not fit. Therefore, ebay is not one of my fav places to buy things so any help would be nice! thanks

Are the injen intakes produced for the ST models as well? Or is it just the GT's?

The Injen can be made to work on the ST but I can sell you the same thing (from a performance standpoint for a lot less), or I can sell you something much better (a CAI) for just a little more. Check out the website (click the banner!).

Ok, for the st, i got a 92-95 civci cai for 28 bucks off e-bay, works great easy install, and does the same thing as all the rest, oh yeah the best part i saved 160 bucks.....

Sorry, but it doesn't do the same thing. It draws hot air from inside the engine bay instead of drawing cool air from the fender or the outside of the car. On a normal 70deg day this can make as much as 100 degrees of difference in intake charge temperature resulting in difference in power somewhere in the neighborhood of 8hp. It is a proven fact and a mathematical certanty that a proper intake will make more power than some honda pos that you bought at autozone.

Im guessing the last post is for me, First off, I have it in the fender, Second off, Im a Machanic, I know what im doing, Im a poor machanic but thats a diff story, An any pipe to the intake is the same, Its not a short ram, its a full CAI..... just to let you know

Ok, kudos to you for having the knowledge to make it a CAI. All I'm saying is that there is a notable difference between a CAI and a shortram. There is also a lot of power to had by tuning the length of the intake tube and adding a venturi to the end of it. I've done a lot of dyno research on BMWs doing exactly that. With a tuned length intake, venturi, custom airbox, and tuned exhaust we made 18hp over the same motor with just a random intake and exhaust (same diameter, the length and the inlet were all that was changed).

I'm not trying to be an ass at all, but I'm a Mechanical Engineer and a Crew Chief on a pro race team, I know what I'm talking about too. wink.gif

actually, the engine heats up the piping so it's just as hot as it would be...so it really don't make a difference...other then the fact that a lot more water and junk will flow through the CAI....now if u really wanna make a winner....run some kind of coolant line through the CAI and it will work some magic wink.gif

Sorry, not true. The piping on mine stays cooler than the underhood temps. The cooler outside air flowing through it keeps it cool. Obviously by the time the air reaches the intake manifold its not at the same temp it was when it entered, but its a lot cooler than it would be if it was just pulling air from under the hood.

You wouldn't want to cool the intake with engine coolant...that would heat it up....a lot. It would be possible to cool it with something else, but not really worth the trouble. It would be just as easy to use nitrous to cool it.

Actually,I plan on making a intake that goes from the TB to the holethe original intake uses to get into the fender well. I might have to dremel it a bit to get it to work, but keeping the intake pipe away from the exhaust manifold is well worth it.

Sounds like a good idea. Its quite a bit easier to just go underneath the battery into the fender and insulate the tube some but either way will yield similar results.

hey what did u use to make that CAI? ur's is different then the one on the how to section.
