the HKS SSQV is an awesome BOV, but check out some other ones and get the one you like the most. As for boost controller, depends on what you're looking for. Do you want a mechanical, or electronic? If you go with Electronic, Apex, Blitz, and Greddy are some of the more common ones. MBCs vary in price, just make sure you get a ball type. The needle type tend to fail due to the needles popping out. Fuel managment - an Apex SAFC will suffice just fine. PLEASE HEED THIS WARNING - Don't buy one used!!!!! Spend the money and get a new one off the bat, you won't have to deal with things possibly not working.

Having said all that. GOOD LUCK! I'll be keeping an eye on this thread!

Why blow-off the excess when a recirculation valve will re-use for quicker spool?

I remember reading alot about this in the evo boards - saying it was quite silly to ditch the stock recirc valve for a BOV.

It adds a little complexity, but it would seem very much worth the efforts.

Cranky, if you would read above, he is going to turbo is 5S-FE, they are not a factory turbo motor, henceforth, they don't have a factory BOV. Also, the reason the Gen2 3S-GTEs run a recirc BOV (on the SW20s) is becuase it is meterd air that went into the engine at one point through the MAF sensor. Its really not that big of a deal weather the BOV is recirc, or not. Especially on a 5S-FE. Shannon, Brent, and a few others are not runnin recircs and are just peachy. Not trying to sound condensending, I'm just saying...

I'm speaking best case scenario - a recirc setup is definitely better on paper.

Obviously a n/a motor won't come with a BOV... lol...
