Hello I have a 94 celica gt 5 speed with header and straight through exhaust. So 3 years ago when I put my cold air intake in it really made a difference. I was fairly happy. However, it is hard to service being that it is between the inner and outer fender. I also don't know if the cold air really helps on this celica. In theory it should make more power with the cold air. However today I hooked up the air filter in the engine bay and it seemed just as quick if not a bit more so. Also I have noticed many of you have it setup this way (in the engine bay) in the pictures I have seen here.
*So has anyone had the cold air setup and then moved it into the engine and noticed any differences????? Did the cold air make a difference? * I know this has been beat to death but I have researched this over the past 3 years on here and can't come to a decision on how I want to set it up. So anyone messed with this before? Thanks.......... |

The 'Butt' dyno isn't really sensitive enough to feel an increase of 2 or 3 hp. Depending upon your application / intentions a cold air intake is probably more effective in the long haul so long as it's actually pulling in cold air, but it's really 6 or 1/2 dozen to the other. My guess is that taking air in from the fender is fairly restrictive without modification
