Never thought I would be making one of these threads as I used to see these types of threads and they would only make me more thankful that I had my car in one piece... But it happened. Wrecked my Celica about a week ago and totaled it. It was early morning and I was tired to begin with, but basically, without going into too much detail, I went off the right side of the 2 lane 2 way road and half the car was on the grass, when I tried to correct it I lost total control when the car went back onto the road and started sliding sideways. Slid sideways for a bit a ways in a ditch, the car hit a driveway which is about a foot and a half higher than the ditch and area of grass I was sliding on, and the car went airborn. Finally came to a dead stop at the sake of a utility pole. It breaks my heart, and this is probably the biggest f*ck up I've ever done in my short life, but it only makes me want to get another one a build it even worse now.... Here are some pics:

Passenger side... Thankfully noone was with me, as they would have been dead...

All in all, nobody died, and I'm still walking and thinking straight. Could be a lot worse. But!

Engine still intact.. =]

I plan on having another Celica by the end of the summer, and have my swap done by summer of 2010.

That totally sucks. Well you learn from your mistakes I guess. Sorry bout the loss, but on the bright side, atleast no one was in the passenger seat nor did the utility pole hit the drivers side.

Agreed, that sucks majorly - I'm glad no one was injured. If the engine is still in good condition keep it.

Good luck with the new car and God speed.

Good luck with the new car and beware of the utility poles!

That sucks. I teach some people how to drive stick and I always tell them dont wrap it around a pole... but this is unrelated.

So are you going to part the car out?

I still own my celica, but i'm parting it out and junking it.. Or selling as a whole. Have a honda prelude now :(

wow that suxs.. do you get pretty bad whiplash? another celica gone frown.gif . Looking at your strut bar, and you can see the bar being bent. but everything else in the bay looks fine from the pic. you plan on swapping out the engine from the gt to another celica right.

Wow, good to hear that you're at least able to walk away and tell us. I hope everything heals better and good luck finding a new shell for the transplant.

Just thank heavens you are OK. It was a beautiful car but it can be replaced. You can't! The fact that no one was in the passenger seat and that you walked away makes this something of a miracle IMO.

You're a very lucky guy that you weren't seriously injured. Think of it this way though. Car's can be fixed, people cannot. Its more important that you're OK, and even though its upsetting about your car, there are more Celica's out there begging to be loved!
