One year ago, we at MR2 Guru decided to broaden our market and delve more into Research and Development. To date we have helped develop more than 20 MR2/Celica specific products, including but not limited to the NST Clutchless Supercharger Pulley for the 4AGZE, the only Synapse-sanctioned MR2 specific adapter for the Synchronic Blow Off Valve and now these never before released Brian Crower cams, valve springs, and retainers for the 3SGTE.

Brian Crower has assisted us in developing these cams for the 2nd and 3rd Generation 3SGTE with a strong partnership between power and affordability. Over the last year, we have worked tirelessly to ensure that these cams are able to reach the market - even in these trying economic times. When affordability is of the utmost importance, Brian Crower has taken the time and money to help us invest in this venture. Not only are we confident in the company and their ability to create competitive products, we also trust in their impeccable customer service and technical support.

Available in two popular durations, both perform as competitively as they are priced.

The 264 degree camshafts will be the most user friendly as well as cost effective. They are safe to use on the stock Gen 2 Shim-Over Bucket design or stock Gen 3 Shim-Under Buckets and do not require a valve spring or retainer upgrade. The lift is slightly less aggressive than other brands to allow ease of use with an OE or ROM tuned ECU versus the the alternative necessity of a full EMS. These cams still have a slight lope at idle for that aggressive sound, yet they will perform with the most commendable street manners.

The 272 degree camshafts are some of the most aggressive on the market today. With a staggering amount of lift and a long duration, they scream for RPMs. These cams are so aggressive they will require the valve spring upgrade, in addition to a shim-under or shimless bucket design to be used. They are also intended for built/performance engines as they will require ECU and tuning modification. *These cams will create interference with piston and valve clearances, therefore we suggest a new timing kit with installation. 272s cannot be used with shim-over bucket.*

272 Degree Sound Clips =

The Valve Spring and Retainer kit adds the icing to the cake. Created for use with either set of cams, these springs have been designed for high RPMs; maintaining consistent/constant pressures throughout the power band. The retainers have been perfectly CNC machined from titanium for precise tolerances, with great attention to detail. *Retainers fit shim-over bucket and shimless bucket designs only. For shim-under bucket designs, use spring only.*

Unlike most Group Buys, these cams are a NEW product previously unreleased to the public. By assisting in the development, testing, and prototyping, MR2 Guru is the sole distributor of these cams until the close of this Group Buy. Being that we have relied on the MR2/Celica communities as much as it relies on us, we bring you the FIRST opportunity to purchase these products at discount pricing before their public release.

MSRP is going to be set at $592.60 for a set of 264 or 272 degree camshafts and $217.38 for the valve spring and retainer kit.

This Group Buy will be offering first release pricing and exclusivity to our supported forums for a minimum of TEN pre-paid sets.

Special Group Buy rates are as follows:

CAMS - $528 Set
VALVE SPRING AND RETAINER KIT - $187

These prices include shipping within the 48 States! I'm sorry, we do not ship overseas at this time.

THIS GROUP BUY WILL CLOSE ON JULY 31st 2009!! After that date we must raise our prices closer to the fair rates of other distributors!
We have one month to sell the minimum 10 paid sets to lock in this price rate before the closing date. All orders will be shipped within 14 days of GB Close.

All orders may be paid to MR2 Guru at sales@mr2guru.com via PayPal. We will also be accepting Credit Card (Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover) orders by phone for this Group Buy at (828) 254-7297 between 11am and 6pm Eastern.

I understand what you're saying but if there aren't 10 buyers, that price doesn't exist. Procrastination is a Group Buy killer. frown.gif

If you're not worried about paying regular post-release prices, this shouldn't be a problem.

so why would I pay now if I might be the only buyer and you would just have to refund my money?? wouldn't it be smarter to get ten buyers then take payment from all?

This is highly unlikely, since this Group Buy is also running on 5 other popular 3SGTE sites. I can almost guarantee a refund will not be necessary. In Group Buy history throughout the internet we have learned that non-paid sign-ups account for about 1/5 of the people that will actually pay when the time comes. Therefore, that method has NEVER worked for any Group Buy, and often results in the failure of competitive and quality community-supported products reaching the public.

This Group Buy is also running as a "gauge of interest" for Brian Crower. If the demand is very low for this product, it is not likely that they will stock cut cores. This means that all orders would be "cut to order" and will require a 14-30 day wait per order. That also does not include the shipping time for them to get to the distributor and then out to you; another 7-14 days average (unless you pay for expedited or drop-shipping). This wait has the potential to be much longer than the wait you should expect during this Group Buy, not to mention much more costly.

I have 30 cores waiting with our name (MR2 Guru) on them for this Group Buy alone. They're just waiting for you to order. My goal is to sell all 30 and prove that there is the demand to keep cut cores on tap. I know that these cams are affordable enough and if they are easily acquired they should steal the market in 3SGTE cams. I am that impressed with their results.

Some "Group Buys" are just short periods of discounted prices on already-familiar products. They typically use bulk orders to achieve these slightly discounted rates. That would be more a sale than a group buy, even though it does involve a "group". This is not one of those.

This Group Buy is offering a NEW product at wholesale rates on a pre-release basis to our supported forums. We worked tirelessly on this project to bring a product worthy of praise to the Celica and MR2 communities, and I do hope you can join in our vision with us.

If the address is a base in the 48 states then yes I would be happy to. Is that what you are asking?

I just got off the phone with usps and they say yes it will be treated as domestic shipping as long as it is in the us I don't have to fill out a customs slip. So yes I can ship you your cams and whatever else you need. So get on the list!

Not in the BC Cams; there is not a difference.

Those referring to the differences are referring to low lift vs. high lift cams. Gen 3 engines can accept high lift cams because the shim is under the bucket and is less likely to kick than the shim-over in the Gen 2 engines. This should be specified with other brands such as Kelford and HKS.

Brian Crower is only offering one lift option in each duration cam, low lift 264 (easily used in stock gen 2 or gen 3 - spring kit advised but not required) or high lift 272 (modified gen 2 required, gen 3 capable - spring kit required).

Hope this helps!
