I just bought a short ram intake from eBay, and it seems I'm missing some things.

First of all, the stock intake has a plastic box that, as far as I can tell, is empty. It hooks in to the side of the rubber tube close to the airbox through a 1½ inch (roughly) diameter hole. The box seemed to hold the intake in place, but it's also hollow, weirdly shaped, and actually connects to the intake. The intake also had a little hole next to the manifold that had nothing connected to it.

Second, I can't find whatever sensor goes into the rubber-lined hole on the new intake right next to the filter. My brother bought an intake like this a couple years back on his old Celica, and he did have a sensor that went in there.

Third, I can't find whatever sensor hooks up to the rubber hose that comes out of the right (passenger) side of the new intake. What's it supposed to lead to?

The empty box is a resonator, it keeps the noise down.

the plastic sensor is you IAT... find it... it keeps your car running right in simple terms... it should be laying somewhere in there.. it usually plugs into the plastic box right above the filter.... as for the tube... cap it off... we don't use it on our cars

actually, if you have a cali spec 2.2 (GT) you use the small nipple on that intake for the IAC hose.
the temp sensor that goes in the other side will be in your engine bay, on the drivers side, near the strut tower, where the air box was. (it normally plugs into that) you will need the grommet out of the old air box.

NOTE:!!!! Some engines have only the Vacum line running from Intake to Valve cover and do not have anything going to the second 3/8" hole on the aftermarket intake. Like mine! Injen is2040p has 2 ports and i plugged the second one, My 98 Reman'd engine had the stock vacum line that should of gone into (an/the) intake was asctualy on the otherside of the throttle body insted, if u remove your old intake and there is NOTHING to plug into on the new seal that hole.

IT is vital that you run the vacum hose form valve cover to intake. using supplied or stock existing line

i have the same car and everything bro..


there should be a hole for your sensor and the vacuum off the intake..i simply put a mini filter on the vacuum hole and plugged in my sensor that's it!

What is the IAC hose? I have a GT-S 2.2( Don't know if thats the same as what you said) But on my intake I had teh nipple capped off, but that fell off so I put a mini filter on it. Is this right? I also have an OEM hose running from the valve cover to the the throttle body right next to where the whole intake goes.
