Okie dokey, still awaiting a response. But other than that Im trying to get back on top of things. I was thinking about making a new post for this, but figured id drop this here as an idea until we can decide on this. SOme of you may know, but Ive been looking for this drive that the Sk2000 guys go on "Toms Turbine Run" is what they call it. After much searching I finally found it. I also found another one that starts in Granbury and runs too Dublin.

The run from Granbury to Dublin (or the Dr Pepper Run as im calling it) is 108 Miles one way. Can either start in Granbury (which is pretty much 30-40 miles away for most of us), or start in Dublin (which is about 70-80 miles away)

"Toms Turbine Run" is pretty much 102 miles long, and starts in north west Denton (so for most of us 30-45 miles away). Besides posting the route, im also putting a link to the SK2000 site where I pulled this from, as it has pics of portions of the run.

SK2000 Forums (pics posted of Turbine Run)

So I was thinking that this would be a great couple of runs us DFW guys could make. I know they have good runs elsewhere in Texas, but to drive 3-5 hours, to drive another 50 some when I can drive 1 hour and do a 100+ mile run? Although I really do want to hook up with the rest of the TX crew, I dont see it happening in the immediate future. All you DFW guys chime in and let me know if youd be willing to make a thing out of this. Im going on the Dr Pepper run in two weeks (around the 6th of September...m,aybe the 7th if I can manage to get the day off).
So hit me up and let me know if you wanna go.

As far as the other meet (26Sep09), like I said Im still waiting on word back from the guy at Bone Daddys. Im going to call again tomorrow and try to get through to the guy. Hopefully I'll have something to report by then.
Thanks!

wow 102 miles run - thats a bit much. If I wasn't pressed for time I would love to do it, but I was hoping that we all could meet - chill, and take a short run off the highway -and photo shoots here and there. 102 miles - thats like 1.5 hrs. Just my opinion.

Well hopefully I will be able to make it whether I can stay long or not.

Yeah, I like taking nice drives...what can I say. After going back and fouth accross the country, 1.5 hours is nothing. Im always down for a little run and chill. There is one thats about 12 miles or so, and its kinda nice, around lake worth.

I think I have to agree with 2bcelica here. As much as I would love to drive that stretch of 102 miles, it does seem a bit much. As for the lake worth drive your talking about, I would be up for that definitely. I think we could probably come up with something good too with the meet in september. I'm still having a shootout with my work over hours and what not so I'm not entirely too sure on time etc.

the 100 mile one looks nice to me - that's really not a big long distance to drive.
just a shame its so flat up here.
you all are missing out not going down to Austin/hill country, but if you don't like to drive then that isn't the place to go.
i don't guess too many of ya'll will ever make out to the tail of the dragon since you won't even drive down a few hours to austin lol

OK, so I know I said that Id have more information at the end of July, and that its the third week in Aug. Ive been real busy lately, but I just got everything all worked out (i hope). The meet will take place on the 26th of September. I was going to postpone it due to the ATS meet, but decided to go with it anyhow. We will meet at Bowman Springs Park around 530-600 (I'll be there a bit earlier). Hang out take some photos, all that good stuff, then cruise over to Bone Daddy's to grab something to eat. After that we can hangout there for a while then disperse. I talked to the manager of Bone Daddy's and I was told it was OK if we hung out there after we were done, as long as we don't turn it into a pissing contest. So if your schedule is free then let me know so I can kind of have a head count.
Thanks!
One more thing, there are some previous Celica owners (along with other Toyota owners) who have expressed some interest in this, I have no problem with them showing up. Just let myself know if your going to make it.
