Turns out a V6 doesn't make your Celica a fat boat.
1/4 tank of gas
no driver
17" rims
3MZFE + E-153
+ all my bells and whistles (amp, carPC etc...)

1220KG = 2684 LBS

The scale only weight in 10KG increments so it's +/- that number

Just thought some might be be curious to know. biggrin.gif

that is good to know.

i always thought the celica weighed in at 2800 pounds. So with a v6 swap your making good power to weights.

I didn't know there was more than one gen. It's from a 04 Sienna, I'm guessing it's a 1st gen.

really thats it?? now freagin way? I know celica gt with 2.2 ltr weighs 2600 pounds dry weight, or atleast i think it does. Thats not too bad really, but i got to see what a gt celica weighs.

this is a good thread to start keeping track of what other celica's weigh with swapped engines, turbo setup, etc etc...

Nice.

I would probably want a 3mzfe swap vs a 3sgte.

Don't ask me why, I probably just like to say 'this b**ch has a v6' haha.

People always ask me if my car has a v6 lol.

People around here are stupid.

My GT hatch with me at 160 lbs. and 3/4 of a tank of gas is 2840 lbs.

you could run compound boost onto the 3s couldnt you?, (one turbo feeds into a bigger turbo)

and my mini with 3/4 tank and me (140ish) weighs 2825 lbs
but i have most the options on my car

A question that I have been dying to hear the answer is: will a 2GRFE mate with the GT4's AWD E-153.
I saw a picture of a MR2 2GRFE swap where he ran his custom header behind the intermediate shaft, this means there is a lot more clearance than with the MZ block. This is good news because the reason the MZ don't mate with the AWD E-153 is that there is 1CM of the transfer case that interferes with the block. Did you know a 2GRFE makes 276WHP (on a MR2) bone stock (aside from better headers and intake required to make the darn thing fit). From all the chat I also gathered that it's very feasible to turbo without too many extensive modifications, no one in the community has done it yet but it's just a matter of time.

Imagine this, AWD 3.5L Turbo V6 GT4... err GT6 biggrin.gif

Don't get confused with gens, there are 6 common V6's

3VZFE 3.0L (cast block, al heads)
5VZFE 3.4L (cast block, al heads) <--- I think there might be 2 gens of this guy

1MZFE 3.0L (all aluminum)
1MZFE 3.0l w/ VVTI (all aluminum)

3MZFE 3.3L w/ VVTI (all aluminum) <---- mine

2GRFE 3.5L w/ dual VVTI (all aluminum) <--- want

I doubt you can twin turbo a 4 banger, although I do believe it is possible to TWIN CHARGE (Turbo and a Super) a 4 banger.

I have a write up of this in a super street magazine that they did for the Scion TC using a TRD Turbo Charger and Vortex charger or something like that, I dunno. I was reviewing it really quickly to keep me busy while I was on the pot. I just know that it is possible if they did it on the TC, although, that engine has a higher compression ratio than the 3sgte, and I dunno about anything else beyond that. Not sure if that is a factor in this or not.
